Alex here today. I have one Paramaker thing, one build mode thing and one live mode thing to show you!
Video: Facial Hair Combinations
The video at the top of this post đ„ is all about showing how you can combine various beards and mustaches in Paralives. LĂ©a worked on this feature a while back and we wanted to show you how you will be able to customize facial hair to create the look you have in mind! Note that more beards and mustaches will be created before launch.
Build Mode Objects With Editable Text
Some of you might remember that a long time ago we showed a feature that lets you edit the text that appears on some objects in build mode. Today, we wanted to share a new look at this feature and how it allows you to get creative with different objects.
For this occasion, Chloé created a motivational poster and a front door rug. In build mode, there will be many objects that will support editable text. Just select the object and click the text button to change it to your liking.
Parafolks will be really motivated now.
When visiting Paras are overstaying their welcome, you might be tempted to change the front doorâs rugâŠ
Live Mode Animation Bugs
I thought you would like to see more funny bugs we got while working on live mode interactions and animations! Itâs great to see Sebastian and Maggie dancing! Until they start partying a little bit too hard...
When you are dancing and it gets to your favorite part of the song.
When the Paramaker body customization sliders are messed up, the vibe of the whole game takes a different turn!

IÂŽm really excited about this game, it feels like a breath of fresh air. I love the aesthetics, really wasnÂŽt a fan of the disneyish feel of the sims in the first place. And including cats, dogs and horses straight away , donÂŽt you guys know youÂŽre supposed to put them in an expansion pack and charge 40 bucks extra?! lol

It would be easy for Paralives being a small Indy game to get the shortened of the stick. Iâm 100% fine with the paralives team keeping features hidden from us until they get the necessary patents, or whatever so that their ideas and hardwork doesnât get ripped off. It was obvious that EA was taking notes from paralives when they introduced âproject Olympusâ and that they will update the community throughout the game development. Iâm not one who even likes bringing up EA because thereâs space for both the sims and paralives to exist and excel in this space but EA is definitely taking notes

I hope you guys are able to patent your stuff before the sims tries to take it and make you change the game again(idk if they can actually do this or not but they did it with the face dragging which every 3D sculptor uses on a daily basis so its certainly not new technology). I'm way more excited about this game than the sims đ

Will we have low density beards in the game as well? I understand that they are very performance expensive and hard to implement, because they require some complicated techniques using transparency and whatnot, but I never feel myself represented in ANY games (not only life simulators) because they never dare to create an ugly beard style. Yes, my beard is ugly. Yes, I'm better off shaving it. But I'm lazy so...

I'm imagining photos on the wall labelled like "Amanda's First Day At School" and "Off to University" and "Christmas 2022" and "Family Day at the Beach" etc. I would use this soooo much! I suspect they will be, but I'd just like confirmation. Thanks!!

2022-10-14 19:59:23 +0000 UTCHey, I just want to say, I hadn't thought of or expected something like editable text on objects, might seem a small thing at first glance but I think that will be an EXCELLENT feature for me. When I play the Sims I like to come up with weird challenge scenarios and ideas for how things should progress as I play, so I end up taking notes in a text document outside of the game. I often wish that I could be taking notes in a way that is in-game, to the point that I was looking for mods and trying to do weird stuff with tomb inscriptions, and having my sims write books for only that purpose of taking in-game notes. None of that really felt natural or intuitive though, but having note rooms with that writing literally on the walls, well I think that will be just perfect for in-game note-taking. That's an awesome unexpected new feature!

You are correct, for now each object has its own font and you can't select a different font. It's possible that we will add the option to select the font you want for each object. It would be great 3. We are not planning to have that feature for clothing unfortunately but it would have been really cool! The way that our characters and clothing work, it would be a bigger technical challenge to have editable text on them. Maybe one day though!

Currently it looks like each object with customisable text will have it's own font, but will that change in the future? So we could choose any font, from the ones present in the game, on any object with customisable text? 3. Will this feature with customisable text be extended to clothing?
