I know I'm coming back on an old subject, but I've recently rewatched that video (still such a pleasure to watch and rewatch over again), and I've been thinking about the clutter. Some people pointed out the use of the chairs turned a certain angle away from the table, or the clutter on the living room table, and how paras would use it. And I've been thinking about the cushions on the couch or the one in the middle of the bed. Could it be an option if, like, a para getting on the bed, would grab it and throw it on the floor next to them, and it would stay there until they make the bed ? Or they would grab the one on the couch and put it on their lap and put it back after use, or put it on the sit next to them. The easiest way would be to make it disappear like in the sims and reappear after the use of the object, but it would just bring players back into reality feeling like..."It's just a game"... The possibility to add clutter anywhere, anytime, and not just from adding objects through the "Build mode" is what would actually differentiate this game from the sims, and what would make the game feel closer to reality... And actually, it would make each home feel more alive you know... ? Like, objects are moving, and somebody is actually living in this house. I don't really know what you guys have planned for us but, you'll probably find something amazing and innovative and practical, as always. Keep up the wonderful work guys !

This is absolutely amazing as a fan of the genre since the early 2000s I’m so excited for the sheer customisation I’m curious if doors can be resized and not always placed on floors I can see awesome kids rooms with tunnels or bunk beds built into the wall with a door or archway as as the entrance

Honestly there's so much I loved about this. I love the peek at the Para's idle animations. I really like all the thought that went into having lots of customizations for items. I love that it looks like it takes no longer to make this house than it would in that other game but this one has many more options for customization, like non standard angles. But I see the struggle to place toilet paper at an appropriate height is an omnipresent struggle. I'm sure we've all notice our sims sitting at some point or another and the toilet paper is next to their heads 🤣 hahahah!!!

Oh gosh, I thought the scaling was already satisfying but the build sound effects hit a perfect audio sweet spot somehow.

Hi ! I know it's off topic, but I just saw the video, and imagined my paras, sitting there, sipping a cup, and then getting up to go a wash it in the sink. But then, suddenly, I remembered that, in the sims, it takes approximately 45 mins in-game, to wash dishes. And then I realized, it also takes 1h30 in-game to take a shower and more than 2h to take a bath. Time-wise, how is it going to be in Paralives ? Will it be possible to have IRL-like durations to do stuff ? Like, washing one single plate should NOT take 10 minutes.... It's just not right to wake up 2 hours before work, and still manage to be late because you had to eat breakfast and put dishes away, and you didn't even have time to brush your teeth or wash your face... So like... (if we have different time modes : x1, x2, x3, etc....) Could the normal time mode, be waaaay slower (proportionnally to the time needed for paras to do stuff and complete tasks), to give us enough time to enjoy the gameplay, but then compensate wiith higher speed on the other time modes (x2, x3, x4...) if people want the days to go faster ?

The clutter!!!! :D When I saw that soap snap up onto the edge of the sink I nearly cried lmao. The object resizing is incredible as well! I was not expecting such smooth resizability on things like those coffee tables or the barstools, and it’s amazing! Question: can paras currently sit in those chairs that aren’t at a 90% angle to the table and also use the table? Like will they move them to sit and eat for example and then maybe put them back when they get up or something? Also, how do you know what height is necessary for the barstools so that paras can use items like counter islands while sitting on them?

✋🏻 I agree with you! When I thought of it, I felt like it was just a minor nitpick detail too, and I figured the spraying noise was just temporarily there for now since it’s a WIP. But I didn’t like the spraying noise either. I am sensitive to sounds too. I’m sure there will be a better sound eventually though.

I really hope at some point they release just the build mode, I cannot wait any longer!!!

The building mode is so precise and flexible, what a wonderful job ! I hope the next video will show more about the gameplay. I'm really excited to see how we can interact with objects like the sofa, high chair, mugs and the computer. Congrats again and keep up the good work :)

This is a good start. Just a few things: Foundations - I didn't see support for foundations - they're a real thing that helps the building not collapse, rot, or blow away. Hoping to see them soon. Clipping and Snapping - I hope that a few clipping issues here and there are fixed. I wonder if there's a control to hold for incremental snapping or sticking to a grid?

First of all: I. AM. IN. LOVE. This is inly the pre-Alpha and it already looking soo good. The building system is great and I love, that you can move furniture or decorations around without these (stupid) fixing points (like in the sims). Just one more question: How do the paras use chairs in combination with a table? Does the chair have to be in a specific radius of the table so the paras can e.g. eat their food on the table? Or will there be an other system behind that? All in all, I’m so glad that I found out about this game back than and I’m happy to support it :)

Is it weird that I'm proud ? I'm proud. Having followed this project for so long, I feel so proud of having seen Paralives grow to slowly become a game that impresses us. No longer is it just a matter of intent, plans and promises, we're seeing that promises are so far being kept, and the hard work & patience is paying off. Of course a lot of it is yet to do or finish (the UI is um, well, it's a WIP ^_^; though I really like the idea of the stamps as a menu, the rest will bloom over time), but you can see the level of customization that's awaiting players. As Patrons we can recognize some of the features that were previously presented to us separately (like the picture frames for instance), but other things are wonderful details I'm glad are being added, like adjusting pieces up/down relative to the ground (like the stones), which could really make a lot of difference for clutter for instance (the pillows would benefit from it). Is the music already from the new composer Andrei ?! It's such a perfect mood. It's casual, but doesn't feel like a loop ; it inspires coziness and warmth ; it's soft but has a rich sound... It is the perfect mood for building. I look forward to spending hours of my life with similar build music. You stated previously that there is no "build mode", that we're gonna edit the house as Paras are living their lives, and you can indeed see the two Paras in the video moving in the background... will it be possible to enable that music at any point during gameplay then ? I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to all of it. I hope you all went to bed last night knowing that despite the probable stress of this video premiere, you had all done an excellent job :)

As I initially observed, build mode looks good and is still intuitive, which is one of the features I would want in a life sim game. In comparison to similar games, your team's approach would save me a lot of headache trying to finish a build that could take up to an hour when I know it could be done in 15 mins with the right UI and controls. Overall, well done!

This is going to sound like such a nitpick because you're video is fantastic and the build mechanics look incredible. The sound of the floors and walls being colored, the hissing sound. One of the many joys of autism is hypersensitive hearing and the short sharp hiss (I assume it's meant to be spraying?) of coloring each wall is grating to me. Of course I might be the only one bothered by this but I thought I'd bring it up just in case. It will effect my playing experience so I wondered if it may effect others too.

I love this sooo much, especially the clutter items that aren't event excessively used but somehow give the build so much soul. As tacky as that sounds. :D But just by putting different utensils on a kitchen shelf you can create such different atmospheres for different houses. But everything else is also very impressive and beautiful and makes me soo excited to build. My whole live I dreamed of being an interior designer, after my love for architecture was ignited by the Sims 1 I bought SO much architectual software when I was a child about 20 years ago that was always very limited but I enjoyed nonetheless - and THIS VIDEO is like all my interior design dreams finally become reality. :) Something I am very curious about is the pricing with scaleable objects. Will the price of a window increase when making it bigger? That is something I really hope for, because I do not want to be able to "cheat" myself when building a cheap house with giving it gigantic windowfronts. A realistic touch with additional cost when a window exeeds certain points in size (like plus 10% of the original cost every 0.25 increment or something like that) would be really cool. Since it would be annoying to pay several times for making a window bigger and smaller while testing it out, maybe you could get the money back when making it smaller or you only have to pay for changes after confirming the buy. Thats just some thoughts I had since the last few times I saw the scaling options. :) Also I really love the screenshots and vides where the parafolk and some of the objects had this sort of soft, cartoony contour, and I am not sure wether that style stays - but I really, really wish it will. I think it makes the visuals look so lovely and cool at the same time. Anyways, thanks for all the great content you create and show us. <3

Watched the trailer earlier today and wow I cannot wait to preorder this game. Everything about the build was great, especially the ability to seamlessly raise and lower floors to create different levels. I am curious though, I noticed when placing a wall it measures in meters. Does this mean we will be able to build to scale, I sure hope it does.

The music is truly wonderful! I often start a game quite enjoying the music, but also usually knowing that the repetitiveness will eventually become a tad annoying and that I'll probably end up turning it off. It's rare that I don't end up doing that. But with this music, I don't think that would happen. It's so relaxing and unintrusive, but at the same time, adds atmosphere without sounding like 'shopping centre' music, lol! I loved the build, and even though what I've seen has raised my hopes to almost ridiculous proportions, the innovation and detail and passion I've seen STILL surprise me, even so. And I LOVE that this looks like a REAL home, rather than a kind of soulless display house, and we, the players, will be able to create the same kind of things. If the gameplay of Paralives shows half as much promise as the build mode, it will be absolutely fabulous!! Rewatching the video again (and again and again!) and noticed a detail I missed before: the automatic "extension" of the curved wall when painting the dining room floor and adjusting the kitchen floor, so you can easily floor between areas without having to build walls! Omg this looks so great!! The only downside I am seeing is the placement of bushes and trees. Could be nice if there would be a brush tool, or automatically rotate and have a variation in scale. I’m not sure if this is just something you haven’t completed yet (which is totally okay it looks absolutely amazing so far) or if it was just for the video but the chairs to the table don’t seem to slot. Does this mean we can put the chairs anywhere we want within a certain distance and the paras will sort of bring or scoot the chair forward? :)

U know what would be cool is them painting the walls and adding the finishing touches , to make it their own, anything they buy after the first build you have to wait for it to be delivered ... and you get a plus 1 happy when it arrives .. sometimes you get the wrong thing , and it makes you 1 sad or 1 happy if you person likes it

I like to mostly build in a popular life simulator game (I'm sure everyone knows what I am referencing) since its build mode is the best feature it has, but so far your build mode blows the game's out of the water - and you're still improving on it. Its very beautiful and really, congratulations to your team you guys deserve it. It'll be a joy when I can finally build things myself with those amazing tools you have developed. And from the very beginning where we see the paras is that voice -acting I detect? You guys have made a ton of progress.
