Paradimes makes me think of paradigm shifts and it makes my nerdy little heart so happy!

I know this is late but I think the name of the currency should be more universal. I say this as an American. I do not think every country uses the "dime" system. Paracoins sounds a lot more universal-more people from around the globe might be able to relate.

Translation wise, do you plan to open the translation files so people can work on translations to their own language? If so, I'm up for helping to make Finnish translation. Para, Paralaiset, aaand maybe Parahat! (Raha is coin in Finnish so PaRaha is a fun wordplay 😅)

The characters are named Para (singular) and Parafolks (plural) and it can be shortened to Paras too :)

Even if the option is there, I think there should be a canon name for the currency.

Parafolks, paradimes... don't you think there'll be too many words with para- ? It doesn't sound good for me, my vote is for simple Coins

My 2 cents on the ParaLives currency: Parels - It doesn't really sound like a type of currency to me. Coins – This is way too basic. Also universally used in many other apps and games. Paros – I think this is way too close to our shortened use of the term “Para” for it to be used as a currency type. Paradimes – This is closer to what I was personally thinking of. But a suggestion, change up the spelling maybe Paradymes, ParaDymes, ParaDyme. Sometimes the small changes make big impacts.  So anyway, everyone in my family is a gamer. They know about ParaLives and are highly supportive, so when this poll popped up everyone gave me their 2 cents worth and some ideas to pass on: Paraloons – Everyone knows the Doubloon which would make the connection fairly universal to players, but distinctive to ParaLives. PCoins – Para + Coin, at least would make the term “coin” less basic and more game connected, though I find it kind of bland myself :P Paraleens – My youngest’ gamers suggestion and spelling (he is 7). His favorite treats are Pralines.  He wanted to know why we (adults) didn’t think of it ourselves*rolls eyes and laughs* Personally ….sounds yummy to me!! So there are my 2 cents worth (plus a few more ) Blessings

I agree, I really would have preferred a "paracoins" option but "paradimes" was pretty close. Didn't even think of "paracreds", that one sounds really cool lol

My take on each as I really don't like any of them: Parels - It doesn't sound like currency, which is a bit weird to me still. Unlike caps, coins, credits, simoleons, etc. Reminds me of parcels? Coins- Way too basic and could be confused with a lot of different apps & games. Paros- My least favorite. It's going to get really confusing when people say paras all the time because it sounds so close. Paradimes- This wouldn't make sense to non-English or non American natives as to why it would be called this, but I am a fan of it's relation to money. I would personally be a fan of something like "paracoins" or "paracreds"

‘Parels’ is Pearls in Dutch.. :D It would be nice to have a more ‘international language’. Not everybody is American or English speaking so no dimes for me. ;)

Paracoins feels really mobile-gamey to me. Which just brings to mind gimmicks and micro transactions. But that's just me 🤷‍♂️

Paradimes is great. As for it messing with peoples perception of the currency, I really don't think that matters. I can't think of many games that have currencies that translate to real life, and I for one will be measuring my houses in bananas, thank you.

I find Paradimes is much alike Paradigm which does not refere to payment. Paradomes would have been better since it sound like paradoks..and that can refers to money....hehe.

Seeing Parels makes me think they should be called Pearls. Parels feels like it would easily get confused with Paralives when it's spoken in haste. But having something like Pearls, which contains the same letters, become the currency would make for an interesting design for the money as well.

Parels sound like a good one if you already know that it's currency but IMO it's not intuitive. Paradimes is waaay better still because of the witty homophone.

I agree with an earlier comment... Paros is nice, but ultimately sounds too similar to Paras. Paradimes is punny and has a nice ring, which is what I voted for, but I do agree that the "scale" of the money might seem skewed to people who use the word "dime" to mean 1/10th of a dollar.

I really like Paros! It is simple to say and reminds me of Euros, so it rolls off the tongue nicely. Paradimes is cute but I agree with @moemoe and @Shanna Washington... The "dime" part has so much underlying semantic meaning that I'm not sure about its in-game connotation. Coins remind me of mobile games and, like "dimes," reminds me of loose change. Is parels pronounced like perils?

Parels are so fancy, makes me think of non-pareil. But paradimes, I cannot pass up. You witticist!

I love paradimes BECAUSE it sounds like paradigms. So fitting for a simulation game.

How about paraCOINS? I think that might be better than paradimes.

They will work on everything art related so characters, objects, props, etc, etc and all the textures too. The goal is to finish the characters together, improve the overall art style a bit and work on all the objects and textures :)

Paradimes sounds adorable!! As for the Simoleon comparison, I personally think that’s much more of a mouthful than Paradimes is, even though they’re both the same length. But if it needs to be shortened, Paros fits cutely as well!

I personally like Parels, most people seem to like Paradimes but it makes it sound like just change like obviously dimes, and nickels, quarters. Loonies/toonies if we are talking Canadian money, it's a much more generalized term for currency amount whereas since dimes is 10 cents, it makes it seem like it's just change.

Personally I think that creating fancy name for game currency is overused nowadays. Why not just coins, gold or money? Because it will be easier to sink into game world or because other games do it too? I always use terms "gold" or "money" no matter the actual name so it doesn't matter to me much but I would like to see things simple in Paralives so I voted "coins". By the way, first comment ever on Patreon, love the project so far and hope it will not be just gimmicky technical demo :) Good luck and thank for your hard work :)

Paradimes has the most votes, but I really don’t like it. A currency name needs to be short and sweet. Think about it in this way “this lot costs 50,000 paradimes” vs “this lot costs 50,000 Peros” peros just rolls off the tongue better. So obviously Peros is my vote. Peradimes is a nice sounding name... but it doesn’t work for me personally.
