Just wanted to show yall that for colors especially, I go thru multiple ideas before settling on the final. Basically I kept going, trying different gradient maps, using the color jitter pen, using ALL the layer modes, combining all of the above at once just to see what I could get. Till I hit a point where I went "THIS IS IT!"
It’s also a good idea to take a break, I went for a walk, cleared my head before coming back to it. And I’m really happy with the end result!
You can see in the thumbnail I had a fairly purple-blue color scheme in mind. The start product and the end result almost always look different with me because as I do an illustration I’m learning, seeing what works and what doesn’t work. Sometimes what I had in mind at the start was what didn’t work. So don’t be afraid if what you have isn’t what you had in mind! Keep working on it, take breaks and trust the process!
The color fundamentals tutorial is going well! Still have it planned for the 15th! I’m thinking of a color demo for December so January can be skin tones. I really want to expand on the color fundamentals by breaking down some masters works so you can see how other artists that aren’t me use color in their work.
Also personal update, I’m kinda busy with a secret personal thing 👀 so I can’t do as much studies, but hopefully I can pick back up in December! Thank you for all the support <33
