Lots of lore got dropped and it was all good. The Ravens are the bandit group Alicia and Klem just trashed and they sent word to Maynard so they could get money for the baby. You saw him in ep 1 at the end when Drel told him to search of royal survivors while he organized his army to attack Hiden. Yeah, the human world is small. That map they show is it.
