2023-01-15 19:47:27 +0000 UTCSo, basically, it's to allow the guilds set records and have those records survive for long enough to let them farm the noob admiration and increase guild member count, before Ye Xiu and his goons show up and smash the records, hopefully many days later when nobody cares anymore. Even if they don't manage to kill him, their attacks are intended to slow down YX's grinding, which means while he and the gang are constantly brawling, trying to survive, the Guilds' other elite players are off dungeoning and increasing the level gap, setting records etc.

In the LN, when the Guilds worked together like this, I don't think they all travelled to the same physical location, no need for all that, especially when they're often located in different cities. I should clarify their goals in attacking YX here: As I recall vaguely, each dungeon has a level range requirement. If your level is too low, you'll get suppressed by your NPC opponents, struggling to even survive, let alone set any records. Too high and you can't even enter the dungeon anymore. Now, obviously, killing a player once isn't the end, they can always revive in the nearest city, losing some XP in the process. Instead, the point of these attacks is to kill Ye Xiu and his team enough times, causing them to lose so much XP that they drop in level far enough, that they can no longer feasibly challenge the same dungeons as the "cutting-edge" Guild players on this server. (Right now, the highest-leveled players on the server are around level 30, I think.)
