You're absolutely right about Kimimaro. He is to Orochimaru what Haku was to Zabuza. To make it even more clear, they had Kimimaro cross paths with Haku and Zabuza as they were beginning their new journey together. I really liked that detail. It shows that Zabuza also saved Haku from the attack of the Kaguya clan. And this here shows just how ridiculously strong Kimimaro is. No matter how skilled or powerful characters like Kakashi and Gai are, Gaara's Sand Coffin + Sand Burial would absolutely kill them, and Kimimaro was not only able to resist the crushing pressure multiple times, but he was also literally able to brute force his way through the sand despite Gaara's best efforts to hold him. Even at this point, Gaara was well above Jounin level, but CS2 Kimimaro was still able to handle it. And I'm pretty sure it was pointed out, but moments like here with Naruto are more like metaphoric or symbolic visuals. But in a series that has Genjutsu, it can be hard to tell lol.
