I like how last episode left us on a cliffhanger with the Orochimaru vs Hiruzen fight, and this episode ended with the same cliffhanger at the same part of the fight lol. Anyway while Naruto was calling Sasuke reckless here, remember that Sasuke was ordered by Genma to pursue Gaara and the others. He was on an official Chuunin mission and didn't even know that Naruto or Sakura were following him. As for Sakura, don't feel bad for kinda finding her annoying. She has a lot of moments like that. There's a meme that goes "I'd apologize to Sakura fans for making fun of Sakura, but there are no Sakura fans!" lol. That's a bit of an exaggeration because she has good moments, but also lots of annoying ones like this too. And while I do like Shikamaru, I also like that he was about to die there too. By that I mean it shows that he was truly ready to die for the mission to be a success, because he had no idea Asuma was there to save him. A 12-13 year old kid was ready to make that sacrifice. That takes real courage.
