Sansha & Blanco Covers

We're finishing up our mini-series Sansha & Blanco, a tale of two dogs, and wanted to share with you some cover designs that Vinsensius Suriantoso completed for us!
The story was created by Ray Chou, based on his own personal experiences with man's best friend back in California.
For the covers, we wanted to do something special and looked to old paintings for inspiration. We came across Synoptic Narrative artwork. These are paintings that have an entire story unfolding on the same canvas. Usually, the protagonist will appear multiple times in the same painting, giving the viewer an idea that the next part of the story is unfolding.
With 4 whole issues to cover, we thought, why not make them all connect and tell the story as a whole? Vinse did an amazing job on these and even connected the beginning and end background elements to make the whole piece come full circle.
