Cinema4D 2025.1 advection (VIDEO TUTORIAL)
Added 2024-12-12 18:18:52 +0000 UTCI somehow cracked all PBD advection stuff in Cinema4D 2025.1
There are many bug fixes that helped things work better in this version and I hope you find some good uses for this effect.
It is more complex than it should be at this point, but at least we got something we can play around and have all rbd, cloth, rope working with pyro forces.
Let me know if any questions!
Cheers,
T.

Unfortunately no. Maxon doesnt give API access to Insydium on purpose..

2025-02-05 07:51:35 +0000 UTCDoes this work with Xparticles? And are we able to use Pyro with Xparticles like we would with TFD & XP?

2025-02-05 07:37:13 +0000 UTCthanks! hmm sounds like a bug? i guess baking alembic is the solution and add the vertex map there. Tired of these workarounds haha

2025-01-10 07:45:08 +0000 UTCNeat tutorial! One thing that I couldn't fix: as soon as I cache the cloth, the vertex color tag becomes unusable. Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

2024-12-16 18:34:52 +0000 UTChaha you know how it is! you spend hours/days revisiting setups, optimising and when you feel ready and confident.. things just break lol

2024-12-15 16:56:24 +0000 UTCThis is pretty slick!!! - the separation of simulations is definitely more flexible - still wild how convoluted Maxon has made simple advection yet in the new particle system they give us an advection modifier haha... That bug at the end though was wild I expect nothing less though lol

2024-12-15 14:56:53 +0000 UTCNo you're good - i think that's probably obvious enough that most people will just catch that. Thanks Thanos!

2024-12-13 16:12:39 +0000 UTCah yes, without info on cloner, no info to pass around! I hope i didnt miss explaining this part on my end

2024-12-13 15:55:46 +0000 UTCFound my issue - you have a random field in your scene driving the color on the cloth clones; without that, the vertex color map doesn't show any variation. Probably a really obvious thing - but I missed it haha. Thanks Thanos!

2024-12-13 15:49:29 +0000 UTCGotcha. Weird. I'm using planes in a cloner like you showed; maybe I just skipped over something accidentally. Thank you for the insight!

2024-12-13 15:36:11 +0000 UTCMmm no but it only works on geometry. If you are trying this with splines is not possible -needs a workaround which is not procedural any more

2024-12-13 15:29:59 +0000 UTCThanos - this is so fun; i've been experimenting today. One thing i'm curious on - when I drag my cloner into the vertex color, it doesnt assign random colors to the clones. They're all just one shade of white. Did you do anything specific to other areas of the scene, or settings, to make that possible?

2024-12-13 15:16:43 +0000 UTCthank you! likewise
