hey bud, i think once noise is not set to "world" it wont move. But unsure about the result. Try changing projection types in noise and let me know if that works!

Thanos Kagkalos

is there a way to make the volume stick to the object if it's moving? Right now if I move the object, the volume moves position and doesn't stay with the object.

Luke

yes RS cannot displace volumes (till now)

Thanos Kagkalos

I realize this is for Octane, but as far as I know this isn't possible to do in Redshift, correct? Only Octane and Arnold?

Luke

did i? its been a while hehe cheers

Thanos Kagkalos

Amazing! Haha, you decided to make it a cloud tutorial in the recording.

MUHAMMAD TABISH

Thanks for the reply :)

Hugo DUPREZ

Hey nope, this is on render effect. Maybe if u do it via sculptron or standalone but not via c4d plugin

Thanos Kagkalos

Hey! There is a way to export obtained result as VBD? :)

Hugo DUPREZ

thank you Thanos!

Jose Medina

Love it!

Riccardo Kolp

Just realized make sure USE C4D NOISE AS OSL in octane settings is enabled or else you'll be wondering what the hell is going on for like 10 minutes haha anyway works like a charm now

Spenser Clark

the volume trick is great ! I was looking for it and could never find a way to do it. Thanks !

Yvan Fabing

Fuck covid!

Nick Ito

Indeed, lots of potential here. And it was so stable i was surprised, cause i fiddled with a lot of parameters in osl and didnt crash. And other times it just crashes as i plug a texture haha go figure!

Thanos Kagkalos

Pretty cool man, I was curious about c4d noises I’ve seen people do it I never investigated much, the OSL displacement noise was always a bit too uniform and generic good for a tiny bit of variation but this is much cooler thanks for sharing!
