Our last part of advection series, is here. Let me know in the comments below, if u found it useful, and what would u like to see next.

Have a great week!

XP Advection cloth (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Check your cloth density, your pc specs etc. Its not related to ram. Xparticles are faster with single core speeds for most tasks rather than multicore or anything else

Hey, when i cache like u its so long, and i got 5,33gb memory used

akces.studio

Maybe lower voxels so explosia is smoother, maybe more substeps, more rigidity in constraints or maybe a complete different approach with displacement deformers/smooth. There are so many ways to do a certain thing, so depends the result u are after there might be a different approach.

Thanos Kagkalos

The final result is cool, but what if I want to limit the effect of the xplosia? It looked a bit too crazy deformed, maybe reduce the gravity?

Andrea

This is really cool. I'm starting to watch your old tutorials first, cos I wanna make sure I follow your R&D from the beginning. The way your recreate the cloth constraint manually is very cool, I wonder why by default, XP is using the other method... slow and less detailed compared to your technique! Thanks man!

Andrea

Thanks bud! More xp to come soon!

Thanos Kagkalos

This was very helpful! Lot of things explained in this one tutorial. Thanks for sharing!

Ridvan Maloku

thanks buddy!

Thanos Kagkalos

You are the man. Great tutorial.

Mark Phillips

Hey Chris, mmm nothing i can seem to think of out of the bat. There is a project file though if u are in high tier patreon where u can check out whats missing.

Thanos Kagkalos

I feel like I have something setup wrong, even though I followed this to a T. No matter what I do, it's like my constraints are not enabled. Even with the connections strength set to 100%, they just stretch apart.. any ideas/

Stun Visual Studios

Thanks for the feedback. I will see if it has an option for speed, maybe others find it useful too!

Thanos Kagkalos

Very cool and informative Thanos! Just wanted to mention that it took me about an hour to watch this video instead of the 30min because of the Vimeo buffering being so terrible. I know this is something out of your control but just wanted to mention it's happening. Might be worth looking at other options for the videos cause this problem has been going on for years with Vimeo. It would also be nice to have control over the speed of the video and the quality, i think Vimeo lets you add those controls but i think it would be nice to have them for those of us that only have a few minutes to watch a tutorial. The content however is great! Keep it up

Jesus Suarez

thanks buddy! always at ur disposal :)

Thanos Kagkalos

SO good man!! Had no clue about all those settings with the XP cache, and the way you hacked the cloth system and rebuilt it yourself for an even better look was amazing!

David Ariew

cheers mate!

Thanos Kagkalos

Excellent tutorial. Keep up with the efficiency! ;)

Digones

thanks bro! will break down as much commercial as possible!

Thanos Kagkalos

Thanks for this great tutorial. Lots of great tips. I would be super interested in some realflow stuff. Especially in art direction the fluids and working with surface tension like you probably did in the Kitkat Ruby Stuff. Also maybe in connection with fracturing. Thanks again. Insane work by the way. Hope you are all very healthy and safe in these weird times!

screensnacks

personally I would love to see a detailed breakdown that shows a complete genesis of a project, the Pitatakia piece in particular interests me... again I really love these tutorials Thanos

Dark Arps

I think one of the most useful aspects of your tutorials is how much care and attention you pay to optimization and efficiency, the way you manually recreated the xpCloth function, leaving only the aspects that you need for the scene really helps me understand how XParticles actually works, I found this one, like all the others, to be incredibly valuable, thank you!

Dark Arps

Definitely a solid one righ there for all of explosia users!

Thanos Kagkalos

Thanks you guys always post the top notch stuff.. caching tips help out tremendously!

Spenser Clark

Definitely that!

Thanos Kagkalos

Fruitless breakdown for sure !!!
