Part 2 at 9:50 - Your thoughts on how the sequel was gonna go are actually really close to how it went in the comics. You should check it out! Ya know, if you want to see Quynh put a leash on Booker.

Yeah one thing I got super hung up on in this movie is that they didn't tell Nile what she could do, that wasn't fair. She deserved to know.

Watching any Old Guard movie is an experience. Watching it with you elevates that experience to a whole new level! Some comments as I watched your videos: Andy: "Don't worry, it's not going to be like 1853." I appreciate the use of the "noodle incident" trope in these movies so much. (OSP have a fantastic video on this trope if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06BUGWthQ70) "The gays can't take anything seriously." Said gays proceed to goad and race each other with stolen cars all over the countryside. Love it. "I think Nile found her weapon." Just wait until you see what it can do! "Is this like history's hottest librarian?" Yes? Yes. "Yeah, but, are we gonna like try to exterminate all humans?" (Foreshadowing [fawr-shad-oh-ing] - noun - an indication of something that will happen in the future, often used as a literary device to hint at or allude to future plot developments.) I adore Nile. While everyone else is getting caught up in their centuries-old emotional entanglements, she sees through the chaos, calls bullshit when needed, and stays focused on the immediate priority. That scene where Andy is literally walking through her memories in Rome and than sees Quynh is cinematic perfection. 100% agree - The balance between great action scenes, character development, and plot progression is one of the many reasons why these movies are fantastic. Not me getting all hung up on why are the people in Indonesia speaking Mandarin, until Copley later explains that this was a secret Chinese facility on Indonesian soil. Is it just me, or did the 3-way fight between Nile, Booker, and Tuah feel really manipulative? Booker uses her to get what he wants, and Tuah's basically conducting an experiment. Zero consent from Nile. Ugh. They should have told her immediately so she doesn't have to carry the burden of accidentally killing her found family. "It was Nicky's turn to break all of our fucking hearts, wasn't it? ... Joe isn't the only fucking incurable romantic, ok!" It's not an Old Guard movie without a beautiful declaration of love from one of the gays. "I never get tired of the soulmates working together." Same, girl. Same. Hubby and I had a good laugh at the blinking bomb trigger LED that "senses" when a thumb is or isn't hovering over it. Tell me that the fictional character who built that bomb thought "I need to add a sensor to the top of the trigger because ... dramatic effect?" Can we please take a moment to appreciate two female actors over 40 playing kick-ass warriors?!? "We're not, like, ending it here, are we?" ... um... well?... "If you wait 5 years before you give me the next one, I *will* fucking kill you." <-- THIS! Unfortunately, a next one isn't currently guaranteed, which really pisses me off. There should be a law or something that says you can't end a movie on a massive cliffhanger unless the next one is already greenlit. I love your analysis at the end! Personally, I've never been a huge fan of Booker, so IMO, if they were going to kill off one of the core characters, I'm glad it was him.
