Gaywatch's 5th Year Anniversary Q&A Stream!
Added 2025-04-21 14:00:49 +0000 UTCOn May 1st at 1:30pm EST, I'm gonna go live on Youtube to celebrate five years of the channel! We're gonna hang out while I answer questions (and, knowing you and I, toss out at least a couple recs).
For my lovely patrons, questions dropped in a comment below will take priority during the stream. Fandom, shipping, a particular film/series, the channel, me, or something more specific you've wondered that I haven't commented on, all questions are welcome!
We're just gonna hang out and chat about queer stuff in a chill, friendly atmosphere. That's pretty much what Gaywatch is and has always been, after all. <3

Happy 5th Anniversary!! 🎉 I was so excited when you said we'll be reading Captive Prince that I got the crazy hope maybe we'll read The Locked Tomb as well at some point. Is that a possibility? 🫣

2025-05-01 15:56:14 +0000 UTCI have two questions! Not sure if they’ve already been asked but: 1. What’s your favorite thing that you’ve reacted to on the channel? 2. Now that you’ve read MXTX, Priest, and Meatbun, how do you think they compare to each other? (like do you prefer one's style over the others, stuff like that)

2025-04-29 22:53:00 +0000 UTCThis isn't really a question but more an idea of a potential thing you could do on the channel. It might be a bit time consuming though, so you don't have to take it as a suggestion but rather just a random thought I had and wanted to share :D (One more thing before I get into it: there's still a lot of content on your channel I haven't seen yet, so there's a chance you've already done this and I just wasn't aware. If that is the case, then please just ignore this comment haha.) So here it is: as someone who loves reading and reaction videos, I really like the concept of the reading streams you've been doing. That got me thinking that what if you did the same thing, only with fan fics of shows/movies you've reacted to. This could not only give you a chance to delve even deeper into the most popular ships, but it could also give room to some of the less popular ships that aren't given as much attention. Now I know that fics have a tendency to get very explicit, and I don't know how comfortable you'd be reading it out loud so IF that would be an issue you could either skip over those parts or just stick to fics that don't get that explicit. I actually have a fic in mind of a slightly less popular ship from Squid Game (Hyun-ju and Gyeong-seok aka the dad of the sick girl. Straight ship, I know, but I really love them together and it still has queer elements since Hyun-ju is trans <3), but I don't want to suggest it here since like I said this is just a random idea I had and I don't want to make any assumptions of you actually going through with it. You're already doing so much and this would definitely be a time consuming thing to add, but I still wanted to share it since I thought it could be fun if you ever had the time :)

2025-04-27 12:39:25 +0000 UTCWhat stories do you think managed to carry their core themes to a satisfying conclusion? I recall you mentioning in one of your reactions that even Arcane didn't manage to do that (and I agree with you - it’s a heartbreak that won’t go away). It got me to realise that finding a story that doesn’t stray from its themes in the middle or get cancelled before the conclusion is exceptionally rare; the only one that currently comes to my mind is The Untamed, honestly. PS. I’ve been a fan since the Ship’s Closet days, so seeing you celebrate the 5th anniversary of Gaywatch makes me bounce with joy. Wishing you all the best for the next five years! <3
