Even though them in a blue collar existence was stretching believability (with their skills and intelligence they know how to work systems and make money) I thought they were gonna pull an Uncharted 4 and have this whole great thing about Diego and Lily thinking they needed to fully settle down but coming to learn that you can compromise between a normal life and identity + adventure. But then...none of that, I guess. <3

2024-11-17 10:07:57 +0000 UTCMan, this was PAINFUL. I barely even looked at the screen that last half hour, and tried to focus on just your window when I did. Also, watching the first half of the season again with you and seeing you make all those theories, knowing where it was all going... it really put into perspective just how much potential they squandered here. Oddly enough, one of the things I disliked most about this season, apart from the ending, was how they wrote Diego and Lila's marriage. Of all the couples, they seem the LEAST likely to actually "settle down" for a "normal life". Having kids doesn't mean you have to become a stereotypical American suburb family, the associated family dynamics included. Just, why? Who thought Lila would even TRY to be a housewife? She ended season 3 just barely trusting Diego not to leave her to raise a child on her own, and now she, what, decided she didn't need a job and could depend on him? But also she was tired and felt stifled? Just what the fuck happened there?

2024-11-14 21:15:05 +0000 UTCThe comics are still stuck somewhat in season 3, the storyline of season 3 is loosely based on the comics counterparts but is largely different. So there is no 4th season counterpart in the comics yet. Personally, I NEVER see a world where Lila and Five get together (and for the past 2 seasons they have worked on developing Diego/Lila to a point where I was confused why they just dropped them like a hot potato in this season) so that started the downfall of the season for me and then the last episode just shoved it down the hill and into the depths of satan's pit. My number one fic for the Umbrella Academy is a Five/Real!Dolores series called "Wastelands of Time", heres the link: https://archiveofourown.org/series/1972825. It's such a good look into what the series could be if Dolores was a real person that follows each seasons plot lines but season 4 is rewritten pretty well so far. I also have a wide variety of Dave/Klaus fics as the fandom is lovely at feeding us with the ship. I loved Luther/Sloane and a large part of the season 4 rewrites I have found include them within the rewrite (which they deserved instead of being dropped, same with Allison and Ray).

2024-11-13 15:08:30 +0000 UTCI didn't really mind this season. sure it wasn't the best that's for sure and I get where people are coming from but I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets. when compared to the other seasons I get not liking it but I personally didn't think it was trash. It honestly kept my attention more than season 3. Just my 2 cents <3

Show had its flaws but it was always charming and they barely adressed Harlans unnessecary death at Allisons hand, because it was an accident and how attached was she to her mother anyway but what she did to Luther......just glossed over. That made me so mad. I didnt even Mind Five and Lilah, even though I absolutely liked them perfectly as a GET SHIT DONE team. They had good chemistry, being snarky but getting results. That was amazing. The other shit wasnt nessecary and since Five (+Klaus) is my Fav it made the ending even more sad. Sure, like you said about the abused and neglected children getting the message "You tried you darn best but your existence is shit and you should die so other can live in peace" .They didnt ask to be born. Reggi and his shitty wife didnt even spare a thought at the end for the kids, just that she made a mistake and he prolonged it and letting the kids be erased from existence was seemingly the better option. Hey geniuses.....you could have come up with something. You made this mess. save at least these poor innocent (more or less) tools you created and abused. And yeah......the Klaus storyline made me want to claw someones eyes out. Was him being forced into sex work (can you call it sex work, when it is forced? but you get my meaning) played for laughs? What the fuck were the writers thinking? Was coke free in the writers room? Sorry, rant.

Besides EVERYTHING in the entire show being pointless, just contained in season 4, Klaus´s whole storyline is so pointless, he did nothing the entire season besides being abused and I hate it for him. And then the overall solution and ending for the show. I kinda get what they were going for? But we didn´t arrive there in a good way. I wish they could have found some meaning in their existence, even if they have to choose to give it up. And also I think the message that the world would in fact be better if you, a bunch of neglected abused children, wouldn´t exist is also certainly a... choice to make.
