honestly the eng dub is far from bad, but i enjoy the chinese original voices way more still, and i just can't lose the "gege" sanlang says everytime he calls xielian so i still prefer the original lmaooo~ but i really enjoy your reactions so i still watch everything in one go 🤣

2024-04-22 11:12:12 +0000 UTCYes, I was thinking that too! Howard is Chinese and speaks Mandarin so I wasn't surprised by that, but I thought Jun Wu's actor was also Chinese based on his pronunciations.

2024-01-23 21:23:28 +0000 UTCI haven't had a chance to watch the S2 dub yet yet (I want to rewatch S1 first) but I'm really liking the dub so far, as someone who watched it subbed originally. they both have pros IMO, and the dub is great for someone like me who has an audio-based memory but don't speak Chinese, so that I can fully remember and track what's happening. whichever you end up going for later on, I'll watch along

2024-01-19 02:01:13 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the eng dub for TGCF donghua a lot!! omg i'm especially surprised at how well the cast correctly pronounced the chinese names. especially Jun Wu's voice actor, even the tone for the names are exactly right (ex. the words: tai(4th tone) hua(2nd tone), fang(1st tone) xin(1st tone)). and i noticed Xie Lian's voice actor as well! for example he pronounced Feng(1st tone) Xin(4th tone), Mu(4th tone) Qing(2nd tone). i love their efforts <3

2024-01-16 07:29:16 +0000 UTCQuestion, you mentioned that at the start of episode 2 that you put it on the Crunchyroll subtitles instead of the Netflix subtitles which it seemed you had for ep 1, but I didn't think season 2 was on Netflix, at least not yet. If there IS a way to watch on Netflix I would love to know about it because those subtitles seem much better than Crunchyroll's which have really been disappointing me. Like I've thought multiple times to myself "damn I really hope this gets put on Netflix so I can watch with Netflix subs instead of Crunchyroll's" 😭

2024-01-16 05:45:18 +0000 UTCCant wait to see u react to the second half!!! what a cliffhanger to stop on lol The sound for the video was a little low (since the subs dont match the eng dub it was a little hard to follow, luckily i have heard the eng dub before). Loved your freaking out over Hua Cheng Voice. Same Sammmme. his eng VA is going so hard for no reason 10/10

2024-01-15 17:44:39 +0000 UTCWhy would you watch the English dub instead of the original Chinese one? It takes so much away from the story. When you changed the setting in the first episode and Hua Cheng said "Xie Lian" instead of his original soft "gege," my heart broke. 😭😭😭

2024-01-15 14:42:16 +0000 UTCBe sure to notice the end of the opening song, how Xienle's name is sung at the very end. If I'm right, it evokes the entire epic beauty and tragedy of the whole novel. Too lovely!

2024-01-15 05:44:53 +0000 UTCI saw your eyes roll back in your head when Jun Wu spoke to Xie Lian alone. Me too, girl. Me too. Just think, we would've missed out on that voice had we not given the dub a chance. Given the international explosion of this story, I think the producers put more effort into the dub than they would normally have. Kictor (Youtuber) knows many of the voice actors, English and Chinese, and has interviewed them, should you get curious enough. Oh, and for this, THANK YOOOOOUUUUUUUU! <3

2024-01-15 02:42:11 +0000 UTCI can't really hear the show at all, it's very very quiet. Unfortunate since I've never heard the Eng dub and was curious but I can't actually hear it now either lol.

2024-01-14 12:41:26 +0000 UTCIt is funny. For my country original language or English dubbing is usually the best. But in my mother tongue. NO, salt and burn it with fire. Mostly, the dubs are hideous and only meant for children. Subtitles are preferred as grownups. 😁
