2024-08-28 13:56:55 +0000 UTCThis is hilarious. The cast all seem fun and unhinged: https://youtu.be/75iSbuqRLs4?si=wwMr4aBGk0KUoClb It’s a panel discussion. No spoilers

2023-10-27 21:01:06 +0000 UTCEp.8 Spoilers: As much as I understand that this was by-the-book writing and that it was something that needed to happen if the writers are following certain narrative rules, I am a bit tired of the same old predictability. Just because something is taught in a very specific way, it doesn't mean that we should always stick to it. I feel like paralleling Izzy to Ed's mental health and him being an extension of Blackbeard was great grounds (in this show in particular, since it loves addressing mental issues) to have him slowly grow into his own person. They leaned into that a bit this season, and I honestly got so mad when I saw that they killed him. I knew that something was going to happen to him as soon as I saw him talking about piracy being about found families, and I hate that I was right. Speed-running the whole giving him some individuality and some progress as a character only so you could have fans like him by the time you off him was a massive disservice to the character. If they were going to kill him anyway, I wish that they'd waited for next season or at the very least ep.10. If you're going to make me cry, as a writer, the least you could do is deal the most amount of damage possible. Making me love him is not enough. Make him find himself. Make him happy. Make him love his life. Make him his own person instead of one of Blackbeard's limbs. Give him dreams and aspirations and hopes and desires. Make me understand that he’s as tridimensional and real as any person that I know. Then it's time. THEN you can kill him. Lmao sorry for the rant, but rewatching this with you guys made me notice that I’m *really* not okay with this plot point at all xD

2023-10-10 01:20:14 +0000 UTCI was in tears at the end of ep 3, but i don't know if it was grief or happyness... most likely both... it was so beautifull <3

2023-10-08 02:26:22 +0000 UTCLiving for the parallels between season 1 and 2. The way Ed and Stede first meet at the end of episode 3, but one of them is mortally injured (s1 it was stede, now it’s Ed). We got a really neat story arc for Stede in S1 in terms of him coming to terms with himself and facing his fears/insecurities. So I’m hoping this season will mirror that in some way with Ed. We got a tiny bit of it in S1, but there’s definitely a lot more that was uncovered following the “break”… S2 Stede seems much more optimistic and fearless, but now he must face his most fearsome challenger: Ed’s Abandonment Issues 😂
