Anime especially tries the most whacked out shit, but their hit/miss ratio for it is crazy high because they put more thought into it than if it was done in the West, where there's a real tendency towards "oh this is supposed to be fun/silly/weird and not Serious Art so we don't need to put much thought into it," like they don't realize yes, yes you CAN and it can come out AWESOME.

You said something about consuming non-western media and how it (basically) hits different (I wish remember exactly which episode it was but over watched 3 episodes tonight to finish and my brain is spinning), and I 100% agree with you. Every Asian show I have watched over the last two years wows me in production, acting capabilities, plots, everything. The kind of storytelling that feels pretty unique because the west just does not have it in spades. Damn I am rambling. I gotta sleep, but this was amazing!

Once we found out that his mom is not his biological mom, and we found out K donated all his money to that children's place for 'unknown reasons': I feel that there must have been some tragic backstory/event/connection in his past when he was a kid that is causing his dual personalities. At least I hope they explain it since that would make some good drama. But even if they don't, just watching them try to live together is fun. K is crazy but he is clearly the character with the higher moral ground of the two: he doesn't take bribes and pushes his other half to be better.

I guess when the story unfolds to us you can always edit the episodes later if needed. Also, I think after episode four you can watch the badass opening to the series. It is one of a kind. Recommend it. ππ But boy this series is sooooo good.
