😈It's womb-month at the dorkfactory!🤮
This has definitely been the most controversial model to come out of the Dorkfactory. Lot's of hardcore grim dark 40k fans have reached out to tell me how insanely sick it is (in the good way) but I've also had a couple people angrily message and unsubscribe over it (woops! lol sry not sry).
As soon as I actually started modelling this one I starting thinking "ohhhhh no... this is really messed up," but eventually it became so monumentally disturbing I totally fell in love with it :) Hats off to people who agree! For the sake of my sanity and everyone else's lunch, though, I think I'm taking pregnancy-related gore off the table for future themes🤷😇
Anyway, these tragically horrific creatures are from the book Dead Sky Black Sun. I'm wouldn't usually recommend space marine novels as they're not really my bag -- more of a Solaris kind of guy if I'm actually reading a book -- but this one is an exception. Have a barf-bag handy if you read it though.

Since I made one mutilated pregnant woman this month, I figured I'd fully exhaust the theme before moving on forever. There's really no backstory to these chain-armed, mechanical-bird-footed mothers. Just thought it'd be cool to replace the birth sack made of other people's skins with a motor... cool, right?
I do think they'd make some good Arco-Flagellant proxies (shout out to my first go at this) for anyone out there with a Sisters of Battle army. I'm certainly going to round out my Sororitas killteam with a few of these messed up mamas.
Turning to the future: next month we'll have the Deadzone Patrolbot. This will be a large, armored robot made up of a lot of low-tech machinery welded together. I've got a lot of ideas for different hands so this one miiight end up being another modular builder kit but I've still got a few things to work out. Please watch the dorkfactory instagram account for updates!
I'm very excited to announce that for February's release I'll be modelling one of Richard Saunder's inspired and unique character designs. So when the patron vote comes around in early January you'll be seeing 3 options for characters created by him, and the winner will become an awesome printable mini! I'm a huge fan of his work and I'm thrilled to get the chance bring some of it to life in 3D! More on this to come...
Well, I hope you all enjoyed womb-month at the dorkfactory (it's ok, I feel weird about it too).
As always keep me apprised of any printing problems and I'll see you all soon!
