Jimin - Set me free pt2 (Reaction)

FYI The writing on his body is from a Austrian Poet of the 1800's I live my life in widening circles by Rainer Maria Rilke English version by Anita Barrows and Joanna Macy Original Language German I live my life in widening circles that reach out across the world. I may not ever complete the last one, but I give myself to it. I circle around God, that primordial tower. I have been circling for thousands of years, and I still don't know: am I a falcon, a storm, or a great song?

The lyric "Going insane to stay sane" is reminiscent to On where they say "Gotta go insane to stay sane". For me, this video is in some ways a mixture of Black Swan and On. Lastly, when the lift Jimin up it reminds me very much of the live version of Lie. I can't wait for his title track.

Some of us think yes cause of Sugas song but also because it seems like a rewrite of Lie. Before he would lift his shirt to show us his abs now he shows us his truth. The dance moves before he was blindfolded now he can see and he’s going to use that air to fly like a butterfly. Dark clothes now in white shadow and light yin and Yang.

Pure art!

It blows my mind that you can be really into one member and not see the beauty of others. Even the guys have such love and respect for each other. I guess Ill chalk it up to immaturity.

Jimin was the Black Swan. The last scene here where he breaks free from the black and is back to being the complete him is just stunning.

This isn’t the first time bts has done a part 2 like this. Airplane part 2 is a song by all of bts, but the first airplane was a song by hobi on the hope world mixtape that was a solo song. So yeah, Agust D’s set me free and jimin’s set me free being part 1 and part 2 isn’t out of the realm of possibility, especially since they have a similar meaning.

yes and this song is a mix between those two songs along with Lie i feel like. also blood sweat and tears vibe from when he is blindfolded and trying to escape. and the German text on the stone

those who are/was mocking him are anti fans, and V and Jk´s solo stans. it´s just kids or teenagers. they refused to buy/listen to any of the other members solo songs. and we don´t call them Army because to be an army you need to love all the members. and btw Jimin has 109 nr 1 on itunes chart right now or maybe more now. nr 1 on all major music charts in the world like the US UK Japan Germany and so on. he broke his own record for the fastest song to reach 100 nr 1 on iTunes. so proud of him and army. this song is so amazing

leat

totally agree about his trademark vocals and i do think he will highlight that in the other songs. but this is the last song on the album and the producer wanted a anthem goodbye to Jimins past self. the way he was in the lie ara and before that. idk when it shifted for him but i think this album is more on his past feelings rather than the new

Im not a fan of auto tune either but in every song BTS uses that is to reflect the shadow inside them. It was used on ON, Black Swan & Shadow from what I can remember.

In an interview Jimin said he wasn't planning to do a pt.2 of SUGA song (it didn't start from that), but since his song had similarities in the meaning of freedom and step foward, he decided to go with that. Here the interview part where he talk about it: https://twitter.com/MINSUGAHQ/status/1636589961913794560/photo/1

Hi! Jim, i read this somewhere and wanted to share with you because you mentioned Shadow “ SET ME FREE PT. 2 IS A MASTERPIECE AND HERE'S A LITTLE WHY... It's no coincidence that the director of Interlude: Shadow is also the director of Set Me Free Pt.2 The entire Shadow part of Map Of The Soul: 7 deals with your fear, facing it, and using it to push you further. In the Art Film of Black Swan, the main dancer is afraid of the others (The Shadow) as they try to cage him and only once he faces them he starts to control them and lifts him up. In SET ME FREE PT 2, Jimin has no fear. Immediately, he controls his dancers, impacts their movements and not the other way around. He's already in control of his shadow. He's in white at the end signifying how he overcame his Shadow. Jimin is free. He faced his Shadow, told him to let go and set him free. He is now free from his fear to fly and be the amazing artist that he is” (credits to the writer)

thanks Jim, great reaction. He truly is an artist, an ultimate performer. I was speechless, had all kind of emotions run through me. So damn proud of him. You never know what you're going to get from Jimin. I love it

Great find! Thanks for sharing.

The writing on his torso is an old (late 1800's) German poem that says this-in case you're interested-I think it's very cool and so fits the lyricism of the song... "I live my life in ever widening circles...that stretch themselves out over ever widening things I won't, perhaps, complete the last one, but I intend in trying. I circle around God, around the ancient tower, and I circle for thousands of years. and I don't know yet: am I a falcon, a storm, or a mighty song.
