A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 + More

Comments

I wish you very good luck in trying to stop all the comments you do not like. After 10 years I would have hoped that, like the boys themselves, we as ARMY can learn to ignore the majority of them. Our energy is better spent on uplifting others and ourselves. How we as individuals see our role as ARMY is different for everyone. It does not matter how long you have been with the boys, if you are ARMY then you should stand for what BTS/ARMY means. The issues you discuss here goes far deeper and has nothing to do with the comments Jim made. Word of advice... words matter.. its the manner in which they are spoken that determines the convesation. A potential shitty comment is exactly that.. potential and, the shitty is a matter of personal interpretation. Trust me...if anyone else was offended by the comments, Jim would have been told immediately, but in a manner that was not accusatory.

Wild. 8+ years I've been ARMY. My feelings about the fandom regularly crossing boundaries w/ their commentary/jokes/opinions, in ways that have created toxic/harmful narratives that have been spread by people who either just don't get the "joke" or are intentionally malicious, are much stronger than I led with. However, I saw someone say something potentially shitty and went out of my way to NOT presume their intention based off my own perspective. I simply pointed out said shitty thing, and tried to concisely explain where I think the statement could be problematic w/o accusation. Then a response was made and I accepted it while attempting to add a little additional context to further ensure that it was clear where I was coming from and that there was no presumptions of malicious intent. If I thought he WANTED to say things that might create harm then I wouldn't have even bothered bringing it up. We are fans. We aren't BTS' friends, they don't know us, and we don't actually know them. "Jokes" about [member] hates [member], [member] is just the group mom, [member] is the least attractive, [member] is dumb/ditzy, [member] alway gets drunk, [member] is a perv, [member] is more/less popular/talented than [member],[member is jealous of [member], etc. have all rippled outward to create toxic hateful narratives outside the fandom. All that to say... I can promise that if I were just projecting my personal opinions I would have been much harsher.

@Hana oh my goodness. There is also a short, straight line to projecting your own personal feelings and beliefs. Like everyone single ARMY, we all have personal preferences with an overall love for each member. You cannot expect everyone to feel and think exactly the same as you do and, if you have followed the journey of Jim for the last year or so, you will come to understand and know his deep love for all the members and their art. You have taken the comments made out of context and I hope that we can all agree that we take everything said or not said into perspective in that moment.

That's why I always try to lead with my presumption that there was no malice intended. It sucks that this is something that even needs to be thought about, but an unfortunate number of the hateful things spread about them have their roots in Army's "inside jokes" (some of which are actually pretty unfunny/hateful in their original form with context, but I digress). These trash people will use these moments to "confirm" that even the groups own fans think [insert member]is awful in whatever way they're trying to assert. It happens to average army accounts all the time, so (fair or not) having a platform it's something to be mindful of.

I wasn't trying to hate on anyone. I was just wondering why she chose him compared to another member. The point is they are all incredible in their own way. I was just trying to make my wife laugh and have a fun moment with everyone. I could see how this could be taken out of context I'll be sure to keep it in mind going forward. I would the for my content to negatively affect any of them in any way. Hope you understand.

I wouldn't presume anyone was being malicious, but what a shitty thing to say... why bias JM when [member] exists!? These are the moments that get clipped and spread around the internet, out of context, as proof that he (or any other member) deserves the hate and threats they get. We can't always foresee the outcome or impact of our words.... but sometimes it's a pretty short, straight, line.

Hey Disha! Poms are awesome dogs! I think we take Beans to get groomed every three months. You can also do it yourself and save some money. It's a round 60 bucks each time.

okay unrelated to BTS question....how much time do u spend grooming ur dog?? Im thinking of getting a Pomeranian and I've only ever had beagles and would like to know 😂 others can answer as well.

Disha

LOL that was fun seeing you both! yeah Taylor's guide is gaining a lot of interest and popularity for all the right reasons. **sigh yes whether you have a bias or not, they all wreck you. 😂 It's all in good fun and we love our boys what can I say haha💜
