The info I was provided for stream.

!! About t MONO

Mono (stylized as mono.) is the second mixtape (which he calls a playlist) by RM. It was released on October 23, 2018 with "Forever Rain" serving as the mixtape's title track. “Mono”, means “one”, “‘single”, “alone”, but according to RM, in this playlist “mono.” actually means “Monster No more”, and this playlist is what helped him find his own voice or identity.

The mixtape topped the iTunes Top Albums Charts in a total of 123 countries and regions setting the record with the most #1 spots on the chart by any artist.

DOOLSET RECOMMENDED FOR ALL SONGS

Tokyo

‘Tokyo’ in Japanese has the same pronunciation as Korean 동경 (dong-gyung), which translates in English as ‘the state of longing.’

The song depicts waking up in both Tokyo and this state of longing. The lyrics express the hollowness of both missing something, from home to a person or childhood innocence, and wanting to be comforted.

Seoul (prod. HONNE)

RM reflects on his relationship and inner dilemma with Seoul and how the city has changed him as a person. Playing with the concept of love and hate and how these two things are related to one another, RM shows us both the light and dark sides of his home through the years.

Moonchild

RM encourages listeners who are battling with the troubles and sorrows of life not to give in. We all have the power to shine amidst the darkness surrounding us just like the moon shines at night.

Badbye (with eAeon)

An interlude type song that is a darker, short but complex song. It has many possible interpretations with a constant emphasis on “loneliness”, there's no ‘good’ in this farewell.

Uhgood

Two meanings of 어긋 (uh-geut) are to fall short of expectations and to not be where you are supposed to be. This track was supposed to be “Reflection” in ‘Wings’ but RM saved it for later and he said this track was heartbreaking to him and that he has many memories attached to it. The track focuses on the struggle of being what is ideal versus what is reality and the urge to cross the bridge between RM’s ideal self and his real self.

Everythingoes (with NELL)

The Korean title translates to “time heals all wounds”. An ode to his battles with self-doubt and anxiety that soothes and comforts army who are experiencing difficulties. An affirmation of pain being a part of life and understanding that sometimes you just need to let it go

Forever Rain

A song of loneliness and concealed depression, RM talks about how the rain provides him comfort. The rain allows him to truly express himself, as his sadness gets disguised by his surroundings. A melancholic song as he wishes to slow down in the rain and step back from his fast-paced guarded life.

Jim is funny you said that RM should just watch Netflix.... by how he is answering Army on Weverse and his post on Instagram he is doing just that as well as just hanging out with friends and family.

First: please listen to the art podcast RM recently took part in! His perspective on things is amazing and you get to hear what it was like when they first started getting big. How he keeps himself humble and grounded using art and music! Second, I love his lyrics and music. I’m so happy to have found BTS, particularly RM whose brain fascinates me Third, On the topic of 23 and me, it’s a topic often discussed in my line of work. I am a genetic counselor and I work with people and familes with genetic conditions to help them learn more about the presence, potential impacts, and implications of genetic testing and conditions. I specifically work with cancer patients and hereditary cancer syndromes. 23 and me is an interesting and fun tool as long as people understand the limitations and possible information they could get from it. Genetic testing isn’t something to do lightly and in some cases it can save lives. To the point of how accurate it is, technology is always changing. What we know now we might not have knows even 5 years ago. And new testing is available too. It will be interesting to see how future generations use genetic information but the main take away is that it isn’t something that should be done lightly because there are dark and light sides to it, as with most things.

Hi jim i so not wanted to miss this live but oh well. Speaking of MONO…. This album plays a role of a “Shoulder to Cry on “ for me. Whenever i am sad, helpless and sad i put this album on , listen to it through nd through , cry and then by the end of it come out positive and light. Yes this feels like a warm hug. Also my fav tracks on this one r TOKYO and UHGOOD. Also UHGOOD is my wake up alarm tone for everyday. 😇

Namjoon had a lot of anger inside of him when he created his very first mixtape "rap monster." It was a way for him to vent. He has come to overcome his struggles, be at peace with himself as an artist, and created the beautiful mixtape mono. Mono is meant to comfort. The piano in Tokyo is soothing and sad however the song itself gave me eerie vibes. The fast buzzing noise freaked me out, i thought he was gonna start spitting really fast and that it was building up to something but it quickly stops. It's like the sound of anxiety looming in the back. 😂 There's a lot of beautiful lyrics in mono. A few that stood out to me were: "The swings cannot look at the sky" because if you think about it, the swing depends on another person to use it in order to reach the sky. Without the help from a being, it stands still and alone. Also the lyric: "You say you wanna let go but put on another weight." That doesn't need an explanation. Moonchild is a song meant for those who come alive at night and he's comforting the people who pretend to be happy during the daytime. That's my take. In some of the lyrics he also mentioned how someone else's suffering can be the inspiration/strength to keep another one going on, so we are each others nightscapes, each others moon to keep pushing forward. Everything goes is such a powerful song even tho it's simple and repetitive. He's drilling that into your head that everything will eventually pass and you will be okay again, remember that. The sudden passionate rap that he throws in there makes it even more emotional. The more you listen to this song, the more you'll feel things. On difficult days, this song will hit. This song immediately causes tears to form in my eyes without fail. The visual i get from this song is being in a flower field on a rainy day and the rain soon clears up, the sun starts shining and you start running endlessly through the flower fields. The instrumentals feel like a warm sun ray.
