I was actually given an old Sony Handycam DCR-PC120 with NightShot last year, which was manufactured in July 2002, and it also features a Super NightShot mode. I think the camera guy might have had an earlier version of my camcorder, based on the serial numbers and the fact that Sony was one of the few camcorder companies offering night vision on consumer cameras during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Another feature of camcoders from the early 2000s was the combination of flash storage and a tape mechanism. If it were a more pro-grade cam, there could've been a safety feature that stops the tape reel from spinning after exposing the entire cassette and seamlessly transfers to flash storage to continue filming until the memory stick is full. At least that's my thoughts on the camera tech aspect of the case.

I am not sure if you read these comments but if you do, I have another wild internet mystery suggestion that I think you would be fascinated to dive into. It would make an excellent episode. I recently came across someone on TikTok called Shiloh Hill WWE and he made like a series of TikTok videos based on some really weird website he claimed he discovered on the dark web. He then claimed to order something from this site and a load of insane things happened. Now I don't know if it is even true but it was freaky.... When I discovered it I became hooked on watching all the parts because he video'd all of it and it abruptly ended with no real conclusion.

Highly recommend folks who can, go see it! The 6 million people number is big but you can’t visualize it until it’s in front of you.
