FROM THE VAULT: BOSS TV - Before I Let U Go (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

This was my third music video and my first collaboration with Cramer England. You may know Cramer as my co-host on The Oner Podcast. For a few years we made several videos together and even started a small production company producing and directing music videos for other artists.

BOSS TV is a side project I did with my friend Chris Bjornn years back. Chris and I had been the two heads of a folk rock duo called Us Thieves for several years when we decided to make an album of low-fi electronica dance music under the name BOSS TV. I think Before I Let U Go was probably the best track that came out of that project and the music video was an absolute blast.

Once again, the unsung star of the video here is the location. I knew I wanted to shoot somewhere like an arcade and when I popped into Classic Skating in Utah and asked how much it would be to shoot there the owner offered me such a reasonable rate I couldn’t say no. I think all in we spent about $400 on this one. The location was around $200 and then I bought dinner, drinks, and snacks for our rather large cast, and threw Cramer some dough for handling the edit. Also Jake Holt from the Dangerous Liaison shoot joined us as a second unit B-roll camera operator and that helped us get plenty of solid footage in just a 4-hour shoot.

Mostly I think BOSS TV as a project was about me and Chris not taking ourselves so seriously and just trying to have some fun. And that’s what this video is. It’s just a whole hell of a lot of fun.
