I just don’t get the memorializing of Kirk as compared to any other number of victims of gun violence. I mean to me there’s almost no _less_ sympathetic victim to honor. So it’s either: disgusting, an entirely performative reacting to the “enemy” of the left, an entirely performative demonstration for your peers on your “team,” or a combination of all three.

I was told directly that people wouldn't understand. That I just had to show people how blessed we were by God for being... like that. So, yeah. They know. They're lying. They just know that they'll lose a fuck ton of friends and family, let alone fans, if people know how deep it goes. And they are told thay anyone who is offended by those views is either possessed by a "spirit of evil" or just being tricked by the devil into objecting to "real holiness." It took over a decade to fully kick the brain washing. And even now I often feel a twinge of fear over being honest about my beliefs. Though, now that's because the president has said that my current beliefs are terrorist ideals so I actually have reason.
