For decades now, clergy desperate to retain relevance and status and to avoid logic have been equipping their congregations with disingenuous apologetic retorts, but none as valuable as "context". They especially rely on it when you're able to quote their own scripture and doctrine to them. Sure you know some verses, but can you quote the entire chapter? If so, do you understand it in relation to older manuscripts and doctrines? If so, do you know what the historical events and politics were in that specific region of the ancient world? If so, do you know how those were influenced by the surrounding regions? If so, do you know the translation from the original language(s), and all possible cognates, idioms, and interpretations, etc? It's a neverending conveyor belt for their bullshit goal posts.

For my part, I’m not convinced about the grouper angle as satisfying as it may be and frankly it doesn’t matter - they’ve successfully pinned it on ‘the left’ already using their mainstream propaganda outlets like Sinclair media, X, Fox, billionaire rags like wsj and wapo and the compliant legacy broadcast networks. The facts are clear that righties do the shooting cause that’s their language - Tyler was raised right so his language is shooting. The truth just won’t matter at this point- it’s already been burned over.

I've heard about the doxxing and the list of folks that is being compiled that even breathed a word about how they didn't feel bad about Charlie Kirk dying (let alone celebrating the event). The media spin from out of the gate was divisive, malicious, and insidious. My partner brought up an interesting point he heard today that's very ironic: that if Charlie Kirk were still alive and was such a bastion of "free speech" and "debate," he'd be fully against the rhetoric that's happening against the folks who are speaking out in disagreement with his ideology. Food for thought.
