A sketch for the next drawing?

Yep! I feel like it's been too long since I made the boys have fun, with no gimmicks and themes. Hoping to get this drawing done in a couple of days.

Thank you for your comments under the previous post. I'm feeling like I'm almost recovered now. Basically that's why the sketch is here now, heheh.

You're in for a surprise in several hours after this post. I won't tell you what it is, but some of you probably saw that little teaser on Twitter from yesterday. I hope you're gonna like it :3

Now about Frontiers, finally :D

Also, when I was sitting down and typing my thoughts about Sonic Frontiers, Sonic's social media accs posted a road map for the game's future updates. So the game's gonna get new content and I think will be finished... in a year. I think it's an extremely good thing Sonic Team actually got a chance to add all the missing content. I honestly think the game's fine, but it deserves to be so much better. Right now it's fun, but everything has a downside to it.

Like the game looks just ah so good, the lighting is just fantastic, the landscapes are beautiful, heck- you can even see the Milky Way if you happen to get a clear night sky! But the popping, though wasn't too distracting for me, makes it really hard to figure out how to get to the places you wanna go because a lot of platforms only spawn when you're like 10 meters away from them. Or, the controls are nice and tight making the platforming and movement in general super precise, but the game likes to trap you in 2D sections or take away your camera control, messing up your plans. Or, animations for gameplay and Super Sonic cutscenes are great, but when it's a calm story cutscene characters move awkwardly (almost as if the modern designs aren't made for delicate emotion expressing), feels really unpolished. I like the combat system, and again, animations, some enemies are really cool and fun to fight, but upgrade system overall is far too basic and apart from getting new moves you barely feel Sonic becoming stronger or faster when you lvl up him. The story for once tries to do something that has connection with the rest of the series instead of just being it's own disconnected thing like it was in 2010s, but the script is so overstuffed with damn references that mean nothing, it over-explains stuff making the really simple story sound confusing and shoots itself in a foot with how inconsistently it treats the characters (god knows this one is the most painful for me), plus the emotional moments really missed the mark with me up to the point I would laugh uncontrollably. I swear I wanna know what's going on in the heads of people who chose Frontiers to be their entry to Sonic. Maria, Babylonians, Black Arms, Eclipse Cannon, Donpa Kingdom - I'm a life-time Sonic fan, I know what all of this is about so I can connect the dots, but what if you couldn't, and the game NEVER explains it even in a form of text in extra materials? Please tell me how you felt if you happened to have Frontiers to be your first Sonic game^^

I feel like a lot of these issues actually will get fixed, but the script I highly doubt will get any polishing, sadly. I still think the game's pretty nice, a 7/10. It's fun to play and it's got stuff to play with. And I think it's a miracle the game's as good as it is on release, I am extremely thankful Iidzuka got that extra year for the devs, and now the second for all the updates. I hope after the game gets properly finished it becomes great.
