I’ve included two new links below for those who have struggled with access to this chapter.
I’ve decided NOT to post to this chapter, and rewrite it entirely from Simon’s perspective. What is up now will be Patreon exclusive.

“What’s wrong?”

He’s too perceptive of you sometimes. Even the smallest expression, a micro movement, gives you away. You sigh.

“I just… I don’t love the restaurant store.” His hand rests on the inside of your thigh, and you spread your legs wider, instinctively, seeking the connection, urging it to slide upward, the twisting in your stomach settling slightly as he begins to stroke along your skin, from knee and back, again and again.

“What’s the rule?”

“Tell you when I’m scared, or anxious. Or overwhelmed.” He squeezes approval, and you continue. “It’s chaos, especially on a Sunday, and… it’s like a warehouse so the sound bounces… all of it is really loud.” The sun is beating down on the truck, warming your skin to a nearly uncomfortable degree, refracting through the windshield and across where your fingers curl into his forearm.

“It’s okay baby, we’ll get it done and then go home. I’ll be with you.” Your head bobs repeatedly with a nod, but there’s no other movement. Usually, it takes a half hour of encouraging yourself to get out of the car and grab one of those oversized carts.
