June 'Accountability' Log

I'm trying to record what I accomplish each day, this should keep me more responsible.

6/1/22

Wrote 6k words for Cummunist Conspiracy

Trained some AI. (NovelAI)

Edited some new sprites for Sonderweg. (Police Girl and Police Dog).

Refined sprite conversion process for Sonderweg (Edits in PSD, export to PNG, upscale to smooth, downscale to use in-game.) I tweaked a few sprite eyes to look to the side, makes them work better IMO.

6/2/22

Starting today I will try integrating 'Pro Writing Aid' into my stuff.  Generally I'm not finding any problems except the admittedly excessive use of commas in my work, haha.

Working with the new artist to make a Soldier-Psyker combo sprite. (Now finished)

Artbreeder stuff.

6/4/22 & 6/5/22

Learning to use Photopea software. Also figured out how to use a line extractor. Initially extracted the lines for the Science Sisters pic that Hemkokima did, but those came out kinda hmmm, so I just uploaded the original pic. Before that, I was playing around with ezgif and Photopea to create some edits that I don't really have permission to upload @.@

I already know how to use Clip Studio Paint & have a key for it, it's just sometimes I can't be bothered to boot up my desktop XD

I edited up an old story file and uploaded it to my FA.

I made a few edits and such using line extraction.

I made a colored pic using a line extractor for Whitechimera, I colored the pic using Photopea.

6/6/22

Today I finished up the ol' google drive folder and put the last FA story snippets into said folder

Planned out Sonderweg bad endings

6/6/22

Refined a process for cleaning up a sketch. I used line extraction to work with pure lines, and then I used an editor to create an outline around the sketch. Pasted the outline back into the original pic and refined the edges a few times by sweeping over the borders a little. Then copy-pasted the pic within the outlines and exported that, then merged the pure linework version with the exported sketch, creating a composite with better linework. And then smoothed it all over with noise removal. Yep, it really was that contrived!

The result can be seen above (the closeup of the gray/red mushroom fox against the purple background). A better summary and direct before/after comparison is in my Google Drive under Demonstrations -> Diamond in the Rough.

6/7/22

Played around with some edits, thinking about some UDTF or cocktf possibilities that involve the head hanging from the ballsack.

Generated a few more icons, not easy since dalle is super busy atm.

Unfortunately I had to head to work, but I was able to write 2k words for the spy story

6/8/22 & 6/9/22

Looking into some spec evo stuff

Learned a little spec evo stuff

Tried some text to speech synthesizing. Not very good results.

6/10

Chill day @.@

6/11

Today I wrote more stuff for the Spy story.

I also now have access to Dalle mega, which is proving quite better for creating icons and whatnot. But also, I am devising a process for creating some pixel art backgrounds, hear me out.

I created a few more icons for Sonderweg.

With dalle mega, I can generate some bigger higher-quality images, and I've been testing out how it works for RPG backgrounds. With the process of dalle generation -> ai upscale -> pixel art transformation, I might be able to create some novel new backgrounds that are semi-convincing.

You can see my attempt under my G-Drive, check Demonstrations -> RPG Backgrounds

Played around with NovelAI's text-to-speech. Not bad actually, a bit tinny at times and a tad too fast for my tastes. I might consider using it for narrations/'voice acting' later.

Finished and uploaded the spy story (Cummunist Conspiracy)

Takeaways:

I've devised some new processes which could help my general content creation. There were quite a few dead ends this past couple weeks, but I've also refined my 'pipeline', so to speak. The icons for Cummunist Conspiracy, Swiping Right on Breeder, and Second Honeymoon were all generated by Dalle-Mini. For Slime Dungeon/Sonderweg, there are two major applications: Status/item icons in the future (possible but kinda tedious), and battlefield backgrounds (the backgrounds are a little lacking in detail).

If I were to make a 'Candyland' RPG, I think the RPG background process might not necessarily work convincingly enough for a whole large battlefield background, but it would be quite useful for locations on a minimap!

If you want to see my icon generation process, check my G-Drive under 'Demonstrations' --> Icon Creation.
