Hi guys, Regolo Engine 1.23 is here.

This is an important release that improves the experience, making it more varied and easier to enjoy.  A lot of progresses to be shown here, so let's start without further ado and let's dig it together.

An important notice before going on

This month a massive 13 mins video. Only hd version because of this. I always try to cut as mush as possible but this time I really wanted to show you the dynamism of some scenes and the capabilities of the engine in this regard.

Also, keep curiosity under 1 if you want to interact with the girl (explanations below)

A better simulation

So here we are at the the second version of the simulation behaviour, or as I like to call it the complete behaviour.

As I wrote in the previous, messy release post, the aim is to condensate all the know how accumulated since the beginning in one major holistic experience. Ambitious goal, i know, in particular because all this complexity has to be coupled with ease of use and a noninvasive ui.

Anyway, set the goals, I must say this release seems definitely on the right track. It has improved the sim1 on basically every aspect and has added sexual interactions without friction. This last point in particular kept me on my toes because till sim1 I integrated them in specific controlled scenarios. Instead this release unleash them and make them available basically everywhere and always (except while climbing with feet, but only because I didn't have time to implement it).

Also the girl moves with a lot more confident in the space. The new obstacle avoidance is prettier and more efficient, so the overall walking system is better. Leveraging on it and on an improved sensibility the girl can now feel better the external stimuli and can reacts accordingly. So you will see her going backward after getting too close, be pushed around by your whole body, come near after being called with your hand from the distance, or be pulled on a step by hand.

Speaking of steps, this release implements a clever way of recognizing steps while walking. It's very different from the one bundled in the 1.20, since the new one doesn't search around for potential stairs and then place the girl in optimal position to climb up, but instead manages encountered steps on the fly and within the walking activity. This is still experimental and was not tested in depth but it already does a nice job, as you can see this in the video.

The video is pretty long this time. I had a lot of material and I ended up with all these scenes that I didn't want to cut. Then I realized at this point it's also useless just to show girl doing sex stuff, it's the organic experience that makes the difference, so I put everything inside and that's it πŸ˜‚.

In this release comes back disposition too. I though it was a good way to make the girl progressively more brazen. It goes up and down depending on how much she is touched and how much is lewd. Unfortunately it's still not well calibrate so it can get stuck in a loop and never come down (will fix it).
So the girl can end up being forever horny. Well, the guy that asked for a new stand masturbation he will be glad 😁 .

Jokes aside, a lot of things have to be fixed or improved. Sometimes girl's inclination is wrong, hand often misses the target during a dynamic context, girl cannot manage seating yet, and sexual moves are not working while climbing.
So about this last point, be sure to maintain curiosity under 1, otherwise the girl will start using feet while exploring and will never interact with the boy.

This means we have still girl's actions triggered by stats' thresholds (curiosity in this case), and this is an handy way to manually intervene on the girl's behaviour at this stage. As I said I don't want to forbid something changing the ui though, so I think this will change in the future. I have a couple of idea on how to make this stuff evolve.

About evolution, the boy is able to seat everywhere now and I hope this will compensate the original one. Not seating together yet but a lot to do already with the girl from that spot. Only limit so far is that this method doesn't recognize empty chair at the base, but will fix it when I have time.

Anyway, it seems I already wrote a lot, so I think it's time to move on to...

But since the priority now has to make the experience fluid and independent from ui and specific scenarios, I will try to be as brief as possible.

How to use it

Regolo Engine 1.23 has been built and tested on VaM 1.20.77.9.

Detailed instructions about dance folder and dance UI can be found in the 1.8 release post.

It's highly recommended to disable soft body physics to enhance the experience and avoid undesirable effects. In fact the many random frictions caused by most of the behaviours generated by the plugin cause unpredictable soft-physics reactions.

Change physics update cap to 1 if you experience trembling issues.

Also an important recommendation: safest way to start over the plugin execution is to clear it, reset girl's pose manually (from the person -> control panel) and then reload it. The plugin tries to automatically reset the pose at every start but it's not always perfect.

Please remember the furniture list known by the girl, below. You can delete and add duplicates but there always must be one and only one couch with the guy over it. Also, don't create steeplechases and create a regular environment as the standard room provided, please.

"AptSofa" (mandatory and just one) beside the sofa there should be at least one of the following known furniture (PlayerNavigationPanel for example, and they can be also more than one for type)

Limitations and caveats

- Consider always that anima and obsessions are mutually exclusive. Every time you choose one of them you lose the previous settings. You can check your current choice looking at the yellow info box at the lower left corner of the UI.

- The Enchanter room tries to load 500+ audio files at the beginning, but it doesn't need to do that again if you just reset the plugin.  The songs for the dancing load at the beginning too (but can changed and reloaded in real time via UI).

- Being it totally procedural, there can be better and worse runs.

- Some behaviours have really a large spectrum of possibilities, so some unlucky variations are unavoidable.

Hi Case, Many thanks for your appreciation, I'm happy my vision has become clearer in the latest releases. All the steps from the beginning led to a satisfying evolution and I'm very happy it can be recognized somehow. But I agree with you, it still needs a lot of work to cut the corners and make it evolve further on this direction. Also, yes, a some glitches occur more often than I'd like to πŸ˜‹ . About the guide, since all the past functionalities will be in one way or another worked again and made available in the complete behaviours like the one in this release, I think it will be better to work out a document focused on the latest. I know all the stuff of the various behaviour from the start can be confusing, sorry about that, but it's basically legacy mode and probably will change form in the future. Also, my hope is that moving on the experience will become very intuitive and straightforward, so that a guide could be considered superfluous. Nevertheless I will surely do a some instruction document at a certain point (hopefully soon), since we're still not there yet unfortunately 😁 .

This is an amazing amalgam of awe-inspiring and "occasionally glitchy/unvoluntarily funny" (her mouth in BJ mode is like a homing missile, while the stuff she sometimes does with her hands ... ;)) Anyhow, just wanted to say that ... it's really becoming visible (even to someone as clueless as myself) where this is going, and ... wow! This is really coming alive! Still some rough edges to smoothen out, but this has clearly come a long (!) way since the early version I saw last year. One request, if I may: Could I impose on you to slap together a .pdf with the relevant instructions? (Doesn't have to be polished or formatted or anything - just in one place) For a new patreon like me, it's a bit daunting to go through several versions of release-posts to figure out a piece of software as complex as this.
