Regolo Engine 1.14

A couple of days late but Regolo Engine 1.14 is finally here, and it's ready to rock 🀘. It's a huge and brave release that will make you forget all these days of waiting, be ready!

An important notice before going on

Since audio is loaded by plugin now, I left just one version of the rooms. Their number was starting to grow and duplicating them every time is now basically useless.
The only difference now between Illusionist/Enchanter ones is the presence of the REAudioSourceM and REAudioSourceF atoms. If you're using Illusionist there's no harm in leaving them but obviously you can also delete them. Apart that the rooms  are pretty much identical.
Furthermore next release I will give option to wait for fully loaded audio before plugin starts running, so old rooms can be emulated too.

New and old forms of self-pleasure

So we have another port this month. The new world is starting to gobble up the old one 😁 .
The sitting masturbation is very similar to the couch one. From idle girl couches, sits where she is at and then masturbates.
Please consider this is an old generation behaviour, so it has not an interruption system in place, so sometimes you have to wait for it to finish after having selected something else.
Can be manually triggered (check the last paragraph about it) 

The leaning one instead is a totally new beast.

As you know I'm very excited by all the potential applications of the new perception system, so I thought about using it immediately in the upcoming release.
This time the girl searches for a potential support nearby across the room to lean against, she finds a way to reach it so she can masturbate while leaning against it.
Isn't this exiting? This means there could be a lot of different situations that can emerge spontaneously (check the video for some of them).
Also it brings a lot of original interactions.

About the behaviour per se:

I built a new room to test this new behaviour in a decent way, with walls and columns. Its named apartment room. I have included it in the release pack since I feel it can be a decent start to try it without much hassle.  I also see it as the starting point of a satisfying virtual married life πŸ˜‚ .

Lastly, I hope this behaviour can underline the benefits of the perception system and the interaction level it grants. This will be a major focus of mine in the following releases.

Mix@floor

A new experiment born from the desire to make her even more alive.
This is similar to mix@chair one so you can filter the girl actions as you wish using the girl-ui. Anyway this is not the classic stance/pose behavours, this is an entire new beast the relies on mutual balance and awareness.

Also, this is the first version of the mechanism, so I expect improvements form now.

So, what it does:

The movements in here are more complex than usual and offer even more freedom respect the old ones. Girl can even change stance while doing something. They are not different poses, they are calculated in real time.

I experimented different mix of dynamism levels, sorted out three of them, you can select each of them from the dynamism menu in the girl-ui during the mix@floor behaviour.
I left "Lively" level as default but perhaps it's a bit too reactive. During recent sessions I found myself well with "Hesitant", so I invite you to try them out to find your style.
Also, some combinations can be bad, I tested as much as I could but sometimes it happens.

The original plan foresaw additional features that are still not finished, so expect some upgrades very soon πŸ˜‰ .

Some thoughts about walking and manual triggers

Perception system keeps on evolving and this is very good for future plans.
The girl now manages twisting and choose the paths in a functional and aesthetically pleasant way. In particular now she is able to avoid low furniture like the couch.
Also she is able to choose a nearby wall or something similar and lean against it.

This kind of surrounding awareness can simulate real life scenarios like everyday life in an apartment, bringing the illusion to the next level, so I will underline them every time I can.

Also a word about manual trigger.
First, I didn't have time to test the new ones in a proper way, so don't rely on them too much. The new ones are these:

- sitting masturbation: you can manually trigger it pointing at ground and touching her pussy.  
- leaning masturbation: you can manually trigger it pointing afar and touching her pussy  
- mix@floor: you can manually trigger it grabbing her head with both hands for a while

I'm thinking of stopping manual trigger development for now. I love them but adding behaviours makes their creation exponentially complex since I need to think to gestures that are not common and don't trigger them by mistakes. Also these gestures must be relevant and not totally disjoined from target behaviour. So thinking of new ones every time and testing them is becoming too taxing and detrimental for the main development cycle.
I think a new way of making this more simple and manageable without going crazy is what it's needed here, a more elegant and simple way of interact with the girl through gestures.

This is not definitive though, let me know what you think about it, I could rethink my position.

How to use it

Regolo Engine 1.14 has been built and tested on VaM 1.20.0.10.

Detailed instructions about dance folder and dance UI can be found in the 1.8 release post.

It's highly recommended to disable soft body physics to enhance the experience and avoid undesirable effects. In fact the many random frictions caused by most of the behaviours generated by the plugin cause unpredictable soft-physics reactions.  

Change physics update cap to 1 if you experience trembling issues.

Also an important recommendation: safest way to start over the plugin execution is to clear it, reset girl's pose manually (from the person -> control panel) and then reload it. The plugin tries to automatically reset the pose at every start but it's not always perfect.

Please remember the furniture list known by the girl, below. You can delete and add duplicates but there always must be one and only one couch with the guy over it. Also, don't create steeplechases and create a regular environment as the standard room provided, please.

Limitations and caveat

- Consider always that anima and obsessions are mutually exclusive. Every time you choose one of them you lose the previous settings. You can check your current choice looking at the yellow info box at the lower left corner of the UI. 

- The Enchanter room tries to load 500+ audio files at the beginning, but it doesn't need to do that again if you just reset the plugin.  The songs for the dancing load at the beginning too (but can changed and reloaded in real time via UI).

- Being it totally procedural, there can be better and worse runs.

- Some behaviours have really a large spectrum of possibilities, so some unlucky variations are unavoidable. 

In the end

First thing, thank you all for the patience, you're amazing.
I had opportunity to spend time with my family without being too much under pressure because of the inactivity, and I really appreciated it.

Also, because of your support and generosity I was able to build a new pc (well, a good chunk of it at least). It's true that I had a quite old rig but if it wasn't for VaM and Patreon I'd never buy a new pc this year (yeah, covid hit hard in here).
The new cpu/ram pair is a big upgrade for me and it totally improved my productivity while at home.
Also, finally videos can be recorded at good quality again 😍.

Yeah, manual triggers were very fun at the beginning but I always knew I was going to hit a wall sooner or later. I just hoped to have more time to think about an alternative before then. Unfortunately it came too soon because the wanderer development proceeded very fast, so here we are without a real option. Anyway I have the structure ready to be used in case I can find out a good solution to reintroduce them. Other than that your idea of gestures to implement basic instructions related to anima/behaviour sequencing is very interesting, I will think about it. Thanks for it! The "point and walk" one instead was in the very first smart walking idea, and basically it became the "follow me" behaviour. It was not translated in the smart walking in the end since I had already in place the fixed destination system. I like it a lot though, so as soon the walking destination system will evolve I will consider it for implementation. Finally thanks for your appreciation, the fact that the engine has become part of your standard VaM experience makes me proud 😎 .

WOW! this looks utterly brilliant. What progress you made in the last few weeks. I can't wait to test it out. I love the way this is headed. I definitely agree with you about the manual triggers. It's already got to the point where i don't use them very much because there are a lot of specific things to remember and i can definitely see it becoming prohibitively complex in the future. I think it's worth keeping some basic ones - perhaps a couple to cycle through behaviours and anima in a previous/next fashion?. I also had a idea of being able to point and send the girl to specific parts of the room. Anyhow, thanks again for pushing the boundaries. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I have to admit that RelogoVR probably accounts for 90% of my time spent in VAM. It's just too much fun to experiment with :)
