The sequence of events that you were trying to remember go something along the lines of. Rory was killed and erased from existence by the crack in time caused by The TARDIS exploding. The trap set to capture The Doctor relied on using Amy's memories of Rory to create a Nestene duplicate copy of him, which thought he was the real Rory. Albeit very confused as to why he is now a Roman soldier. That copy tried to kill Amy once his programming kicked in. The present Doctor puts her in the Pandorica to keep her alive and then heal her. This was after Rory had broken his programming, and was directed to set these advents in motion by a future version of The Doctor. The plan unfolds, and The Doctor uses The Pandorica to reboot the universe, obviously as you do, which then reset the timeline. Perhaps differently, wib, wob, timey whimey, ect ect, who knows. But things are different, as Amy's parents are back. This also brings the human version of Rory back. Put simply. lol.

Which is the curse from scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate adventure, Treasure Island. And secondly, a particlular siren legend, known to sailors. Who's calls heard from the dark, were to entice ships closer to the shore, so that they would crash upon the rocks. As usual, DW does it's thing and melds the two with a sci-fi twist.
