The prisoner in the end is Arnim Zola, and he was in the first Captain America film as well as the Winter Soldier as a computer program. It’s implied here that the brainwashing techniques used to create sleeper agents like Winter Soldier, Zola learned that from this Doctor Ivchenko.

2022-12-07 23:31:36 +0000 UTCI would love to see your reactions to season 2 as well but if not then that’s fine. Or you could watch 2 eps of Agent Carter a week to get through quicker or even alternate one ep of Carter and one ep of AoS. :-)
