Sailor Moon - Getting Kidnapped by Moonlight Part 4

This Sailor Moon series has become a sort of crown jewel in my collection. I just love coming up with artwork to continue the storyline. I have so many ideas that one piece of art isn't enough for me anymore. So I sat down and created a comic page!

Last we left off, Sailor Mars was shown getting chloroformed and Sailor Mercury was walking around the corner. Jadeite was able to keep Mars muffled, so she couldn't warn Mercury about the trap. Well, Mercury has now walked into the trap, and Jadeite is ready. Not having enough time to re-soak his cloth, Jadeite makes a fist and gives Mercury a punch in the belly. It knocks the wind out of her, sending her into dreamland.

I've never done a belly KO, and I figured if I'm going to draw a comic I'd try something new. I've avoided this along with Head KOs for really one reason: they are hard to capture in a single image. You do need a sequence of images to properly depict them.

What surprised me is that creating this page wasn't as hard as I imagined it would be. I think my increased drawing efficiency, familiarity with the tools, and confidence have allowed me to reach this point. I already have another page in the works (it shows Mars getting chloroformed).

Update 11/24/2021: Adding a page showing Sailor Mars getting chloroformed. Definitely a lot more going on in this page! Happy Thanksgiving!
