Sailor Moon - Getting Kidnapped by Moonlight Part 3

I'm really excited to share part 3 of my "Getting Kidnapped by Moonlight" series. I'm really thinking this could go on for another 3 or 4 drawings! So many potential ideas.

Last we saw our Senshi heroines, Mars and Mercury were tied up while Moon was out cold after getting chloroformed. What we are witnessing now is a flashback to how this all started.

The story begins with Sailor Mars and Mercury investigating a rooftop area for potential Dark Kingdom activity. Mars being a little arrogant, decides it's best of they split up. Little do they know, Jadeite is watching from the shadows!

Mars senses something wrong so she gets out her Ofuda charm, but before she can react, Jadeite quickly grabs and chloroforms her! Mercury can't hear Mars' muffled screams. Mercury is walking along the wall, not realizing Mars is imperiled right around the corner! Turns out Mercury is a bit too distracted on her mini-computer. We all know what happens next....

Update 11/6/2021: Adding coloring progress pics. One of them is just flat colors, and another includes a more complete background with shading.

This composition was inspired by a G.I. Joe cover I found:

I really liked the idea of having one character walking on the side, while another waits around the corner. It creates a feeling of anticipation. You can see the similarities in my piece.
