Sailor Moon Chloroformed
Added 2020-09-05 19:38:47 +0000 UTCHappy Labor Day weekend Patrons! This piece finally rounds off the series I started over a year ago, with a Sailor Mars chloroformed drawing. We've finally circled back to the leader of the Senshi.
For this piece, I got really inspired by this legendary Brian Bolland cover, from Gotham Knights #8:
I mean, I would need to be an artist for 40 years before I could even capture that level of detail and emotion. Look at the drapery of the cloth, the shine of Catwoman's suit, the way Batman's hand is gently placed over her belly.
I've seen a few other artists draw renditions of this cover with other characters. I chose Tuxedo Mask as the "villain" because his outfit is black. This would let me preserve the same contrasting style of the original cover; the pure white background juxtaposed with the characters.
A few times in the anime, Tuxedo is brainwashed and becomes a villain. So my idea could have fit in the original plot!
