It was the fall of 2020, and 17-year-old Jalajhia Finklea had just graduated high school a few months back. She was excited to finally break out on her own and follow her dreams of becoming an artist in the entertainment industry. After traveling back and forth to New York City, performing at countless showcases, it seemed Jalajhia really might be on her way to making a name for herself. But on the eve of her 18th birthday, she vanished after leaving her mother’s house in New Bedford, Massachusetts. However, it didn’t take long for her family to realize where she had gone…and surveillance video would ultimately prove their suspicions to be true, when the footage showed her getting into a vehicle driven by a man they knew all too well - 37 year-old Luis Barboza.
