Added 2021-11-12 04:54:49 +0000 UTCJust after midnight on May 28th, 2015, deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home on Bowden Circle East intending to serve and arrest 54-year-old Russell Tillis on an outstanding warrant and for violating a protection order from one of his neighbors. Over the three years that Russell had taken ownership of the home and property left to him by his mother, the mobile home slowly turned into a makeshift fortress - complete with high junk piles, intrusive surveillance cameras, and booby-traps throughout to stave off intruders. Neighbors also claimed to have regularly heard screams from women on multiple occasions coming from Tillis’ compound… his so-called ‘House of Horrors.’ But what really went on inside? Police were about to find out after a horrific jailhouse recording revealed the secrets…
