Felony Friday - How Many Children?

We as humans are an imperfect species. We fight and lobby for change, yet sometimes - when we start feeling like systems begin to fail, we contemplate taking matters into our own hands. In this episode, we explore three separate cases where people had the best of intentions, but ultimately chose the darkest path toward their destination for change.

Sadly, when it comes to child predators there is no justice. 99% of the time they spend little to no time in jail and are released back into society. People who break into vehicles seem to get more time in jail than someone who abuses a child. We don’t have a justice system, we have a court system that needs to be reformed. Just this past week we (myself, my mom & my kids) went up north (Minnesota) to visit family. My oldest who is 12 brought a friend with. At 9am the first thing all of the kids wanted to do was go swimming so we let my daughter and her friend go down while we got the little kids ready. They were at the pool for maybe 10 minutes before we got down there. Within that 10 minutes they were down there alone there was a man whom I later found out wasn’t a guest and would come for open swim. My daughter and her friend told me that he was acting really weird and kept looking at them while sitting in the corner of the pool. They went under the water to see what he was doing and he was masturbating! I immediately told the front desk & called the police. They were able to see his odd behavior on camera and the employees said that he never uses the pool, just the hot tub so it was odd for him to even be in the pool. I talked to the cop and said “had I seen him we’d be meeting under very different circumstances” the cop said he could tell what the guy was doing by his actions and my girls disgusted reaction, but because he was doing it under water the camera doesn’t physically show him doing it. The hotel has banned him from being there and notified all of the other hotels in the area. Unfortunately there isn’t anything legally they can do except maybe misdemeanor charges. I was able to find the guys Facebook page and it’s fair to say that if I ever see him it’s going to be a bad day for him. It is our job as parents and citizens to keep children safe! Because these kinds of crimes against children aren’t punished nearly as harsh as they should be. I’d love to hear your take on the Alaskan Avenger, Jason Vukovich.
