On August 26th, 2015, 24-year-old journalist Alison Parker and her photographer, 26-year-old Adam Ward, headed to the small resort town of Smith Mountain Lake, just an hour south of Roanoke, Virginia. They were scheduled to interview a local businesswoman in regards to the 50th anniversary of the creation of the reservoir. But unbeknownst to the CBS affiliates, a known stranger had stalked them to their final destination, where a horrific tragedy would inevitably befall the news team live on the morning news...

I was a sophomore in high school when this happened, and I lived in the area. We saw the live footage while at school & then it was playing on repeat the rest of the week. I still remember this live footage so clearly.

My heart is in my throat listening to this song. My heart was in my throat listening to this case. So heartbreaking. There's so many elements to this case. There are so many things we need to change and be aware of. I'm so glad Alison's dad is doing just that for his daughter. For many more exposed this way on the internet. It is such a disgusting disgraceful business of powerful people being very narrow minded and greedy. And we need better health care and better education on racism, equality in a workplace, gun control, empathy in social media etc...etc...you did such a great job on this episode Micheal. You brought so many issues touching this case. And once again your sensitivity and empathy for the victims and their families impact our thoughts and hearts. It is infectious. My heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families and my love and thoughts to Vicky for living with this tragedy each day of her life. I can only imagine what she went through.
