NRB Plays Betrayal Legacy | Chapter 2

Hey NeRBs,

The adventure continues for our five families! Who will receive the deed to the haunted mansion this time? Let's find out now!

Also, a small update: we will aim to release the episodes of Betrayal Legacy on the 13th of each month this year going forward (or around the 13th if it clashes with another Patreon release). Hopefully, it makes it a little easier for you, lovely patrons, to wait for the next one.

Enjoy x

NRB Plays Betrayal Legacy | Chapter 2

"USE THE HOMO-PHONE!" I'm so glad the realest jokes are still here.

Thank you for reinforcing what I just said lol. We don't pay money for the videos. We pay money to support the creators and as a reward we get to watch the content. As Chance pointed out - crowdfunding with perks.

Lindsay M.H.

You're paying a small fee for hours of content by a particular content creator. You're not entitled to anything other than exactly what you're getting. Patreon is crowd funding with perks, you're paying so they can do what THEY want. To think that the price of a foot long sub a month is enough money to make you mad that people enjoying themselves aren't enjoying themselves how YOU want them to. Don't be so negative, period.

Chance Johnson

It's the fact we pay money to watch these games. I don't mind if a rule or two is overlooked, or mistakes made, but they messed up the core mechanics of the haunt this time. That's not what I paid for. I paid for a proper gameplay, with their humor.

Thanth

Sometimes when I read the comments where everyone is all up in arms about the rules, it really brings to mind why a lot of people don't enjoy playing games. I watch NRB to have fun watching people play games while being silly. If people not adhering to the strict letter of the rules makes a video "unwatchable," I have a feeling you're someone that your friends dread playing games with. Yikes.

Lindsay M.H.

I had a lot of laughs watching this, then I read the comments, and my day was ruined lol; anyway, I'm not as passionate about Betrayal as other commenters are, but I can see what they're complaining about; it still was a lot of fun watching this, cheers everyone and justice for Jon!

ApocalypseMo

I really do hope y'all take what the comments say under consideration, as just like having Ben on BOtC, having someone be a game master to ensure everything runs properly, as people have said if things arent done properly it can easliy snowball

Donald Sherman

"I just got out of a really, you know, complicated house tour" is the hardest I've laughed in a while

rojowo

Justice for Jon!

Eric Ramsdell

I wouldn't ever comment on things that are obviously honest mistakes but because this is behind a paywall I expect a certain quality to a video. This was just bad and borderline unwatchable. I have only just subscribed to the Patreon bc I absolutely adore betrayal Legacy. Smosh games did a great series FOR FREE on youtube with hardly any mistakes and each players legacy character was lovingly built and played. I really don't think it is hard to follow the rules especially if you have a whole team making and filming these videos. Even watching back your Kings Dilemma Legacy videos there was so many mistakes. It really is not worth the price I am paying to you guys. Will probably unsubscribe once I have finished watching all the BotC episodes (which you guys do really well!)

Laura

I had to turn this off, almost none of the game rules were followed. Jon should have easily won. Laurie should have taken at least 3 points of mental damage. Jon not rolling nightmares defense. Items being used and exchanged in the same round. This episode needs to be redone.

Thanth

I like big Healms and I cannot lie. All you other guys can't deny. When a Healm walks in with an ity bitty edge and round thing in your face you get sprung.

Dr Jiff

Lucy, Lois, or Louise Bowels and Constance Payton Bowels are some name ideas I came up with. Please feel free to use them Blair!

Andrew Janiczek

Really fun episode I’m loving this series

Lexi Westt

Had to fast forward to the end after a few turns from the haunt. So many mistakes made it hard to watch

brettdupree

Excellent epsiode of NRB as usual, but please get the rules and set up fixed before it causes issues with the campaign.

Falkor

I guess so. And maybe I am spoiled by the NRB content quality and throw tantrums over such minor issues ;)

Michał Derdak

Really looking forward to watching this when I get home. Keep up the great content!

Angry Badger

Including the rule breaking. I did that, too. You shouldn't be complaining at them. I did that. You should complain at me. Actually, we all did that. We should be complaining at ourselves.

Xavexgoem

I'm sorry about all those things I did :(

Xavexgoem

You know these are your kind of people when someone makes the Extendar reference immediately after you thought of it :)

Asbjørn Fallesen

"You did this!" XD XD XD

Chris

Along with the other pretty big rules mistakes mentioned, Jon should have been rolling speed for the Night Mare on all of its defense checks too, and also the good team shouldn’t have been able to both attack with the crossbow and give/take it on the same turn. It was still a fun episode, but there needs to be someone behind the camera helping out with the rules.

Will Seamon

I am in agreement with everyone, in that there were some things that felt a bit lacking this episode. The major one being the dubious following of the rules. Jon is definitely at fault for forgetting Laurie should've been taking damage every turn, but there are other things that have been mentioned, that could affect the quality of the game later on. Most notably for me (making a spreadsheet/eventual family tree of the series) is that no one mentioned how their characters are related to the previous characters, as well as Dom forgetting to give the age of his character altogether.

Jay Young

I think I get it, Michael; it's not that the thing itself is a big deal. In actual fact it's how seemingly preventable it was (producers/camerapeople/editors to catch erring before airing) that is really the bothersome bit

Micah Newby

The best thing about having ADHD is that I cannot remember what happened in the last episodes so I get to watch them all over again before watching this one!

Alec Bromilow

Was the second box of Shallow Graves ticked, or was the one we could already see ticked ticked at the Graveyard?

Simon Brake

Loving Dom's impression of Kenneth Williams. Feel like we definitely need more of that going forward.

Paul Ross

Sure, I also mix up rules in my home games, and not only traitor games. But they have the production team to do this right, don't they? To quote Sat: "Terri, where are you?" And I am not very annoyed by that because it did not seem to make much difference, perhaps just a bit peeved.

Michał Derdak

Yes, but a problem with traitor games, where only the traitor knows the rules for the traitor is, if that person are not very comfortly with all the rules of the game itself, when you then get thrown totally new rules at you during active gameplay, and you don't have time to dig deep in what it means, it is very easy to mess things up in the new rules, specially when noone else around the table have a chance to know what the rules are, and can get asked, or remind you. You see two things often it this legacy game. The traitor frantically re-reading the rules for the traitor while it is the other players turn, since they suddenly do things that are not in the normal rules and they are trying to see if it is mentioned in your rules, which makes him/her not being observant of what happens on the board and/or, gets his/hers own rules wrong. You sort of just have to go with it, if the current game session are fun, thats have to do, if it didn't played out exactly like it should have.. well as long as it doesn't ruin further game sessons, enjoy the time you had.

Erik Holmgren

Yeah this needs to happen. Otherwise it'll mess up the game.

Matt Szimanski

Laurie should be dead very quickly from mental damage for staying outside...

Michał Derdak

🖕Back at you Jon! ♥️

Jess Power

NOT Better Help Dom 😭

Edith

Love the idea of the releases being consistent and the 13th is an appropriately spooky date for it!

Ruby

I posted this on the YouTube video, but I’m posting it here too. Please have Terri or someone else go through and fix the deck. It’s important the top cards is visible so you don’t miss mid-game triggers and rule changes. It’s not as simple as drawing one card at the beginning, one at the haunt, and one end of the game, as the game progresses, there are times when the game can change for all kinds of reasons. And knowing that a particular actions may change the game forever adds tension. Also, please have people read their own event cards. I know why you do for the excitement of not knowing what your rolls will give you, but there is information on some of them that contain “secret knowledge” that only the revealer of the event should know.

Luke

Oh I am so ready 🤸🏻‍♂️
