Update On Our New Legacy Series and Patreon Growth

We're very excited to announce that the Prologue and Chapter One of our new legacy series, Betrayal Legacy, will go live on the 21st of December.
The Prologue will be public and Chapter 1 will be immediately available to you, lovely patrons.
Thank you all so much for your support on Patreon. We couldn't make No Rolls Barred without you. And welcome to all the new Patreons who've just joined!
This is off the back of our Blood on the Clocktower double release over last weekend (one went public on YouTube, and the other was exclusively here on Patreon). It was a great success, and the NeRB Patreon community grows!
We would love to give the public another taste of our BOTC back catalogue so they know what they are missing. This means we will make one of our old Patreon BOTC episodes accessible to the public on Saturday 7th of December. On that same day, your new Patreon exclusive episode of Blood on the Clocktower will drop concurrently.
This is not something we will make a habit of, and we will be releasing a BOTC episode that is months old – none of the recent releases.
We are ever so grateful for your continuing support and we hope that you have enjoyed our recent new cast addition for Blood On The Clocktower – there will be more incredible talent joining us soon!

I was going to suggest something similar -- but I think that might flood the market a bit. But maybe release say one a quarter?

2025-01-02 02:28:05 +0000 UTCI think with Kings Dilemma coming to an end this is a terrible decision to put the new legacy series on the higher tier. It's one thing subscribing to the patreon and only getting a couple of videos a month as it is, but to expect us to pay extra for a new legacy series that will fundamentally replace Kings Dilemma, that's a bad call. I think I'll end up cancelling my membership when Kings ends, rather then upgrading for the same content, which will have the opposite effect to what they're going for. Unless, of course, Betrayal is a secondary legacy series for that tier and above only, with a new lower tier series planned.

He messed up, yes there was some unnecessary fallout but I can't imagine there is great feelings either between folk after hearing about his cheating on someone they were likely also friends with outside of TDM. That was old NRB, the new NRB has a much better vibe imo, and the new cast members are fantastic! I hope NRB continue to look to the future than drag up the past. Had to be said.

Using old episodes as a loss-leader to entice in people sitting on the fence is smart biz, imo, and it def works. And, ofc, the more people there are giving these fine folk money, the longer they can continue making content for all of us, both free and paid. Btw, I can't wait for this new Legacy series. I've been wanting them to get back into this for a loooong time! 'Til then, I now have a HUGE mountain of content to dive into and binge, so if you'll excuse me...

Exclusives are more a delightful bonus. Also joining the OTHER chorus hoping we see Adam back soon. He is missed and seeing him on Angela's channel has been lovely. He's lost none of his passion and enthusiasm. On the off-chance he sees this, I want to apologize to him for judging him guilty without his side of the story. That was wrong of me and I am genuinely sorry for contributing, however minutely, to his anguish over this last, what, year? I felt it needed to be said.

2024-11-30 02:12:01 +0000 UTCI join Patreons to support the freely available public stuff that drew me in in the first place, I usually don't do it for exclusives. I understand that some people need to be enticed that way, but most Patreons I support - the ones I've been on the longest and the happiest with - tend to only offer early access, usually a few days to a month, and maybe a different version (without sponsor reads, for example). I know I'm probably a minority opinion, but I wouldn't just accept or "not mind" releasing "some" older episodes, but I would actively applaud and prefer if Patreon exclusivity was more of a time-limited early access, and all episodes eventually made their way into the public. But I also don't know the NRB Patreon crowd well enough, and don't know how much the necessary revenue depends on the enticement of those juicy exclusives being actual, full-on exclusives - and after all, I'm a lowly Loyal Piglet (6.50) backer, too many different Patreons to go any higher, but then again - we're talking about BotC, which is the exclusive content on "my" tier.

While the exclusives are a nice to have, I don't feel robbed if one or two pieces of content goes to the public, at least in service of increasing the number of supporters. It means possibly more people will join and allow for more (possibly expensive) content.

I played Betrayal Legacy years ago and thought it was fantastic, but you're basically out of luck in the US if you want to find a copy for not exorbitant prices. I'm pleasantly surprised to see you were able to get a copy, and can't wait to see what twists your own journey with the game will take!

I would love to see you guys release more of the old BotC videos to everyone, so why not do this like every 6 months and have the patreons votes on which one gets released. I would say we get to pick from those that are 12 till 7 months old so we are guaranteed 6 months exclusivity on those videos, they aren't too old and we get to choose our favourite.
