I’m somewhere in the middle. I’ve left my subscription active so I’m still supporting NRB financially but I’m still having trouble wanting to watch the new episodes. It’s been a couple months since I’ve watched a video.

Signed up as a Patron after Adam left, not because I disliked Adam (sadly I also loved his screen presence) but I want to support the innocent parties who've lost subscribers due to ignorant knee-jerk responses.

In spite of the community’s response and reaction that caused this whole ordeal in the first place, I chose to renew my subscription after having cancelled at first. I realised I was punishing the good people at NRB for the audience’s ignorance and that is just not fair. The patreon money and ad revenue go to the NRB team, not the audience and board gaming community who don’t know what happened and chose to act on vague words that don’t even constitute a proper accusation. It won’t be the same without Adam, and he will be sorely missed, but for now I just won’t look at the comments which seem to be celebrating his departure. I won’t let a large part of the audience ruin something I enjoy (although, a little less now). There’s a lot of exciting stuff happening with the new intro, RPGs and new table and the return of members of the cast who have experience performing comedy to the videos. And it would have been better if Adam was involved, but, oh well.

I have to agree with this. I appreciate this is a really difficult time, and understandably you might be struggling to produce all the usual content to as regularly as you once did, but it would help if you could set expectations a bit more clearly. Prior to all the drama, there used to be a dated upload schedule posted on Patreon every month. This would make a huge difference if you could produce one. I do miss the podcast and the regular BOTC episodes. I've also been gutted not to see more from the expert vs bo-zo series, the first episode of which was amazing. But what sucks much more is waiting, regularly checking Patreon and then just slowly realising that these things just aren't going to appear. Communication goes a really long way to just let your Patreons know that we are still valued and haven't been forgotten about.

With no Adam, myself and several others want to stay. That becomes more difficult when we are a week away from the month ending and the content we were promised has not shown up. No botc , let alone two. I also don’t think I saw a podcast nor was I informed of the changes. Will this become consistent again? Last- please provide an update on the in person botc. Many of us invested and it sounds like that is in jeopardy. Thank you for any reply.

Dom could be great, I do however also think Laurie needs to be given time to bed in. I will admit there are moments during some of the Uncut BGC where Laurie could have pulled the group back on track of the game (just as Adam often did). I think though that he was thrust in to this position and needs to be given a chance, each uncut BGC we get, he gets better and better.

I agree with the above. Adam leaves really big shoes to fill, and it's not going to be the same unless you find another super charismatic host to fill that role. A lot of people have done a great job as side characters, but to be that role that makes every video entertaining you need something more. I think Dom could potentially do it. Outside replacements should also be considered. It's just going to be really hard to have videos of the same quality from now on because everyone's chemistry with each other was part of what made it so great.

I've been following since the start of Board Game Club and have been following Adam since his days in Name Redacted. It is a shame to see that he's possibly fallen back on his old ways, but I think this channel can stand without him. I'm not planning to unsubscribe anytime soon, since I know there's going to be an adjustment period. My only recommendation, and I say this trying to be constructive, is to find a new host or group of hosts for the channel. I love having Laurie on every episode, but I don't feel like he brings the energy needed for a host spot. Dom, Jon, and/or Holly feel like they would be great at the role if they were interested.

I gave it a shot but it isn’t the same without Adam. Maybe I’ll change my mind but for now I’m saving my money. Uncut BGC isn’t worth it anymore. Going to miss the extra BOTC but even that… So sad.

This is very sad….. sending love to all involved. You guys hit such incredible milestones as a channel just before all this, and thinking that you all didn’t get much time to enjoy it fully before the chaos ensued is such a shame. As amazing as the rest of the cast is, it’s still a slightly melancholy adjustment as a fan seeing one of the main people that lured me into this channel, disappear in a blink. And now I’m grieving the loss of House Rules…Sully and Adam had undeniable best friend chemistry that really made that series shine. I guess we just have to patiently await his statement on how this all happened…

NRB's parent company, Trident Digital Media, still lists Blampied as the channel director. Probably should update if the termination is effective immediately?

A shame that it has come to this, but sadly under the circumstances I don't see what other option could have been acceptable. Hopefully all involved can heal and move on, and the channel can continue to grow and foster the hobby we love.

Eh...people will come to a variety of judgements, I won't wax lyrical on it. And to be clear, I'm not saying the allegations are necessarily false - merely setting out the implications if they were. But I believe in 'innocent until proven guilty', and it never seems right for someone to effectively lose their job over an unsubstantiated claim, which does seem to happen increasingly. More generally I think there's value in maintaining a bit of balance in the discourse given we don't know the facts. But clearly it's unlikely Carley will be on the channel given the current state of play (since the company hasn't confirmed any misconduct on Adam's part, and this is a live dispute, having Carley featured would be problematic at best). And if the allegations were false and it led to loss of earnings, reputational damage etc, I think that's standard legal territory.

I agree. A non negligible amount of I've seen has been people wanting to see someone tarred and feathered instead of respecting an investigation is going on and the parties involved aren't at liberty to discuss it. Some people in the comments here and NRB Discord have disappointed me.

I like Carley a lot in general. I don't think random YouTube comments were the place to address this. I also wish she would make a full statement (which to the best of my knowledge she hasn't yet). I don't think there's any clarity on what she knows, what happened to her vs. what she heard through the grapevine, etc. The one person who likely does not have their hands legally bound to stay quiet is Carley so she has an opportunity to add clarity since she seems to have first hand knowledge of what's going on.

I respect both parties in choosing this step, for the best of the channel and staff. It sucks if allegations were true, and we should never know details. If not I hope in the future there is an opportunity for Adam to return should his mental health allow. Unlike many here it seems, I'd happily have Carly remain away from the channel as her statement just muddied the waters, stoked people to get involved in what isn't isn't business and led to people speculating making this situation worse for all.

The truth is none of us on the outside know anything about the situation, and regardless of what has actually happened, mainly I'm sorry for all of you in the company that have had harassment despite not being being relevant outside of working for the same company. I've been loving the Laurie led episodes, I feel like I've had a chance to see a side of him that I haven't seen before on the channel and it's been really fun! I'll definitely be continuing to watch, and understand why this has to go the way it has, but hopefully all gets resolved in the end.

This feels like the right move. I do wish all the best to the NRB crew. It is a great channel, that I love to return to. Laurie is doing great as a new host and everybody did their best to still offer entertaining and great videos in the meantime, even though it can't have been easy.

I support the NRB team for doing the right thing and removing a problematic and toxic individual from the group. Laurie is an excellent NRB host and we get to see a number of new and old guests interact with each other and have fun with board games

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I'm gonna miss Adam, on the other hand, my understanding of the situation is pretty vague... but I agree with the decision and think it will ultimately be the best for the company as a whole. I hope House Rules remains with Sully and possibly a rotating cast of other NRB members, though if I had to pick a cohost it's a coinflip between Laurie and Dom tbh, not sure which would be funnier to see. Eegardless I know the general subject matter and Adam dug his own grave and now he will have to lie in it. TBH I was a bit worried about the channel going away because of this, but I'm glad to see it continuing under Laurie's leadership, way to step up to the plate Laurie!
