Than the demon wakes up to find out they have been charmed, and then minion wakes to act. Does the demon get to kill that same night though? If yes, then it's game over, since Tempest kills Mara. If no, good could still win, as they have 5 remaining votes. Mara wakes up, tells everyone that Tempest is the new demon, they vote, good team wins. Right?

PH turns the former demon into the Goon (and snakecharm poison is lifted). New demon picks the Goon, turning them evil. Tempest, Mara, and Adam all share the evil win!

Arguably ok for the ST to assume the PH wouldn’t make an unforced error, just as the ST usually assumes as a matter of course that at three alive a demon wouldn’t kill themself.

If tempest got to choose who he snaked charmed then by all means Adam should have had used his Pit-Hag power which means that Adam could have Pit-Hagged tempest into an outsider. By doing that Adam killed the demon and good would have won. Or am I mistaken?

2022-07-27 01:09:48 +0000 UTCSome roles only get information posthumously too (Undertaker, for instance), but they can't REVEAL themselves as one of those roles, because those roles tend to be powerful and easy targets for demons and their minions. So if you execute someone claiming good, who can then be PROVEN good, the information they got is more solid.

Having accurate information is a means to that end -- if you use your information wisely. Here, they had accurate information that three players were good, and used that information to kill one of their own, good players. Ignoring everything else and all other information (including removing a potential win condition for good), that leaves good with a 0% chance of killing the demon, and fewer future opportunities for a good player to both nominate and vote. Killing someone else at random in this scenario gives good a 20% chance of killing the demon, and a 40% chance of removing at least a vote for evil/minion power. In addition, good only has a few days in which to win at all; voting for someone you believe to be good wastes that vanishingly rare opportunity. Whatever information you stand to gain by killing your own good player in this scenario (which, of course, never came through -- as is often the case), I don't think it outweighs taking one of only a few opportunities to actually win. I understand the prevailing wisdom governing these choices. I've watched the videos and seen it play out practically. Based on everything I've seen, I think it's a bad approach.

If people don't do that you're opening yourself for a demon/minion starting to bluff as useless characters (which is super easy to do) and not risk being executed. It's better to execute someone who came out as a clockmaker than shooting in the dark and hitting a really good role.

If it's great to kill people for information's sake, but you take a shot at people you don't believe to be good (or don't have info to that effect), you at least stand the chance of hitting the demon or a minion. But so many of these games roll onto the last night having hit none of the evil team, while good tears itself apart.

Especially as it seems most people commenting on the channel seem to be rooting for "good", maybe the player we follow through the game could be a minion or Demon? It would mean people are more likely to understand the plight of the evil players, and why Ben sees it necessary to help them as much as he does (especially in the early game).

I’m increasingly having to figure it out from which roles are in play, and it would be much more comfortable to just be provided with a copy in advance, since so much of the game depends on it.
