My first Redshift Tutorial: Beautiful Subsurface Growth Shader

Hi Friends,

I´m really happy to share my first Redshift Tutorial with you. Please keep in mind: I´m just starting with Redshift, so I guess, some of you are way more experienced with it already.

I´m trying to get up to speed with it and just thought: Hey, that´s a pretty sweet effect that I would love to share with you!

Anyway: In the future, you can expect more Redshift knowledge on my patreon, because I really start to love Redshift in addition to Octane. Clients repeat to ask me for Redshift skills so there is no way around it for me to learn this awesome Render egine.

Best,

Markus

I don't know. It was just like that, that the previous 3 clients all worked with redshift. Maybe they think it's more reliable because it's more directly integrated into C4D right now. But for my current client, I use Octane, because it's faster for me.

Why clients requesting Redshift? What is the reason behind it?

I will check the rope materials with the new rope function soon

When I used your rope mats in Redshift I read that I should use a custom gamma of 2.2 for greyscale in bump and displacement. I don't know if this is true in all cases but the ropes sure looked better on 2.2!
