Thank you for your video on Cuba, I really appreciated the insight. Your commentary on the relatively good quality of life, compared to other nations in the region, really helped to change my perspective on the situation. It seems to me that Cuba is a politically restrictive place to live. Freedom House and Amnesty International both give Cuba low rating for political repression. Defenders of Cuba point to the fact that the new constitution was voted on by every citizen and received 8 out of 10 votes. They also point out that there are elections in Cuba, but that they function differently than elections in the US. What power does the average Cuban citizen have in influencing their government when compared to other "democracies" that receive higher ratings by these organizations? Is the single-party candidate selection process in Cuba fair?
