My sweety and I attended our first Comicon. My son and grandsons took us. Seattle this spring. What fun! Such a carefree, fun, and forgiving group. Met many authors and found a series that I am seriously getting into. I had only two possible costume items. My walking stick (5 feet of Diamond Willow from home in Alaska that I need when standing a long time) and my “Tim the Enchanter” hat with horns. A step on the silly side. I was walking through the place like scenes in this story, I found myself looking for the crew. This story put me there before I knew what it was all about. It’s great. I came away with a stronger sense of what the attendees were all about. I was too embarrassed (and hot) to wear my hat so things were pretty real for me. My Carol suggested that I should don it and so I did and really for just a moment I could feel the magic. There is a spell that comes over some people at Comicon. People wanted to take my photo and I wanted to take theirs. We have these shared memories that we all are no doubt sharing with others. I hope to attend next year and already have a nice crystal to add to my stick…need to make a metal mount for it, maybe a light…maybe a spell. Turned 73 this year. Love the story and the artwork.
