Give it time, be patient and keep puppy's access to things under control in order to prevent bad habits from even starting. Collies are sensitive souls so be gentle. I like to simply teach puppy his name in the early stages by saying his name and rewarding if he shows even a tiny response. Move on to basic obedience and concentrate on building the dog's confidence. Also start finding out what puppy likes to play with etc. and see if you can coax him into a play session. Once you get some traction, up the socialisation and set puppy up for success in every new situation so he doesn't become overwhelmed.

Good evening Zak! First of all I would like to thank you and give you credits for your great videos and for the support you provide through them. They are truly helpful and I try to follow your lead as much as I can. I am facing a problem with my dog and I hoped you could guide me through it. I have a 7 months old husky-white wolf mix. She's a girl. We live in Athens in a large apartment and she is really well behaved. She is really social both we dogs and people.. However, we are on vacations in an island and we live in a small village. Today we discovered that she chased and killed a neighbour's chicken and she keeps on wanting to go there. (she ate some too). If the owner realises his chicken is dead we are going to have a lot of trouble and unfortunately he might want to hurt her. I hoped you could give me some tips in order to prevent this behavior. Also, the fact that she ate it , means that it will hurt her or something? I will be waiting for your response with impatient. Thank you for your time and please keep up the great work. Have a nice day :)

I have a new puppy (border collie)that is 4 months old and I bought it yesterday.im having trouble with him because he is very shy and doesn't want to play a lot.
