"A heartfelt story about a boy and his new friend that saves them from danger. " Julius is based on Judy's 3 year old grandson, who loves Paw Patrol. His canine friend is based on the true story of our coworker Brent's dog Maxx, who saved him and his children from a fire back in 2016. Both Brent and Maxx needed months to recover from the experience. I learned during the creation of this cover that Maxx passed away a year or so later, so for what it's worth, I would like to dedicate my art to his memory. Maxx, you were the center of a truly inspiring story that circulated through my office like wildfire. My condolences to his family-- I can at least say I learned they have another canine bundle of joy helping them through the quarantine.
ATaleForChildren.com is run by Judy Ogden, a sweet woman who writes homemade books for/about her grandchildren and other kids in her family. Spec versions of those books are FREE and available on her website currently, but don't have art yet. This is her third self-published ebook, and it is $3 if you want to get it on your Kindle. A fourth self-published ebook with my cover art is already out and will be posted very soon.
Judy also offers a very affordable service, in which you can send in a form and she will write a book for you to then gift to any children/parents you know-- and I will be the artist who illustrates the covers of those books! At the moment, I believe Judy is only capable of making ebooks, but I think she's learning how to self-publish physical books in due time.
