Smashbits #1: Megaman Music Video
Added 2016-03-27 06:05:54 +0000 UTCI've been animating more than ever! Here is a freelance project I contributed to but I was not the first director.
Funny story! Smashbits, the studio I've been working with the past couple months, sent me this music video with someone else's "finished" animation. However, few of the characters were actually from Megaman, faces and personalities were nondescript, few of the shots involved actual movement, and none of it flowed as a series of events related to the song. I was told that the original animator turned this in about a YEAR past the deadline, and refused to even be paid to fix it. So it was passed down to me with little time, little budget, and little to go off of from the original animation, and yet I finished the edits a week ahead of schedule and they loved the results! Since then they've had me animating videos from scratch for them and I'm currently on my second one of those projects, so you'll be seeing more soon.
As always I'll continue working on my own stuff too, of course! I've got a backlog of original art to share here, I'm considering making a private sketchbook blog for my patrons.
I will also share some of my early drafts on this video-- I don't think I can share the original animator's version, but I can at least show you how it looked when I was planning my take on the story, from before I did anything to their animation other than move scenes around.
